I have been expecting this day for a year. Many on the left mistakenly construed along the way my belief Trump would win was me supporting him. Jeb was the only person I thought would give him a run on the right and he never went anywhere. Likewise, I maintained there was no way Clinton would win the general election. I voted for Sanders then Stein, but the reality always was this election was decided the day Elizabeth Warren took a pass on running for the DNC nomination. She was the only kind of outsider who could have won the general election on the left based on her strong history of legislating for the working class. I really have no idea what Trump will be like as President. There are things about him that give me hope by implication in distilling his business success, but there are prospects based on his personality flaws that scare the hell out of me too. Just gotta wait and see.
Well, let's wait and see what's going to be in the first batch of the executive orders, that are waiting for him in the Oval Office. Tis along will define the rest of his presidency. Most likely, will know today.

I'll be watching the proceedings today. I do hope it goes well and I do hope all have a peaceful day (Trump supporters and those protesting Trump). I don't have much optimism for a good (not great) inauguration speech based on two items; Trump's "performance" yesterday and the fact Trump wrote it with Stephen Miller. Let's hope he can surprise us.......

Why is it that Fox is currently playing live coverage and ABC, CBS, and NBC is streaming the live coverage an hour from now. It's almost as if all of these networks are just pandering to their core audiences.
Executive Orders are largely masturbatory. I will wait and see how he works with Paul Ryan with whom there is not a lot of love to be lost. If he cannot work with Ryan in areas where the two disagree, his Presidency fails. That was Obama's undoing. He could not get around Harry Reid's political stubbornness and ended up surrendering the legislative initiative of his Presidency to him. If Trump does the same with Ryan, we are screwed. He has to be able to shape legislation and get it moved around the leadership.
Not much of a surprise, but all the major news networks are talking politics, either for or against Trump, while C-SPAN is taking calls from real people. Refreshing.
