Trump mentioned NASA in his inauguration speech. Apparently he's a fan, and would rather get things done vs muslim outreach like Obama. I'd like to see him cut spending to any lefty programs he can, and use some of that for funding. I bet he can do it while still cutting spending overall. http://www.space.com/34666-space-policy-issues-facing-president-donald-trump.html
And NASA is a believer of the global warming threat: Carbon dioxide in the air at highest level in 650,000 thousand years. Global temperature up one point seven Fahrenheit since 1880, Nine of the ten warmest years on record have occurred since year 2000. Arctic ice down 13.3% per decade. Global average sea level increased 7 inches over last 100 years 281 tons of land ice lost per year http://climate.nasa.gov/
I'm not sure on this one. Is there enough money available to throw at NASA for them to catch up with private industry?
They have been talking of this issue since the 1970's - please keep up Not everything is Obama's fault - that logic is for the hard of thinking
I thought NASA's mission was to inspire Muslim children to study science and contribute to society. http://www.foreignpolicyjournal.com...bolden-right-all-along-about-muslim-outreach/
Sounds like you want the President to micro-manage the NASA budget??? Well, I think placing humans on the planets is monument building. And while it's flashy it's a waste of resources. We're no where near the level of technology where we can support a space colony. The real benefits come from thankless, glamorous number crunching. That's where the real benefits to us come from.
Who said anything about a space colony? Get astronauts to Mars for a year and a half before they come back. Back to the moon for 6 months at a time. Landing on Mercury for several months and into the upper atmosphere of Venus. Then on to 5-9 year missions to each of the giant planets. Do that and I'll be satisfied. We can even invite some foreign astronauts along in exchange for a few billion dollars.
