You're preaching to the choir here, Foolie. I'm all about relaxing and enjoying the simple things. I think I was born with that motto.

    Enjoy your nap!

Well I for one am not going to give up anything at all. What I post here for breakfast, I eat in real life myself. I just don't over do it. I also do whatever I feel like doing to. I know my limitations due to my age and I don't over due it. I am now back to walking every day, running is something that is out of the question for now. Riding my bike is allright to. The doc said that I could do anything that I wanted to as long as I don't over do it. I think that he kind of figured out that I was going to do that stuff anyway. I have lost 56 pounds and I haven't put any of it back on. I have another 50 pounds to go to reach my goal. But thanks for your (advise) anyway.

    IOW

This 85 year old couple, having been married almost 60 years, had died in a car crash. They had been in good health the last ten years mainly due to her interest in health food, and exercise.

When they reached the pearly gates, St. Peter took them to their mansion which was decked out with a beautiful kitchen and master bath suite and Jacuzzi.

As they "oohed and aahed" the old man asked Peter how much all this was going to cost.

"It's free," Peter replied, "this is Heaven."

Next they went out back to survey the championship golf course that the home backed up to. They would have golfing privileges everyday and each week the course changed to a new one representing the great golf courses on earth.

The old man asked, "what are the green fees?".

Peter's reply, "This is heaven, you play for free."

Next they went to the club house and saw the lavish buffet lunch with the cuisines of the world laid out.

"How much to eat?" asked the old man.

"Don't you understand yet? This is heaven, it is free!" Peter replied with some exasperation.

"Well, where are the low fat and low cholesterol tables?" the old man asked timidly.

Peter lectured, "That's the best part...you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like and you never get fat and you never get sick. This is Heaven."

With that the old man went into a fit of anger, throwing down his hat and stomping on it, shrieking wildly.

Peter and his wife both tried to calm him down, asking him what was wrong. The old man looked at his wife and said, "This is all your fault! If it weren't for your blasted bran muffins, I could have been here ten years ago!"

'mornin, y'all. Welcome to humpday! Gonna be a busy one here. Lunch for a retiring co-worker... pre-retreat meeting to set agenda for tomorrow's retreat. If they're not careful, we might have 10 min to do some actual work. *grumble*

    Later, taters! ;)

    Good morning everyone!

Home for the mega-wedding this weekend - daughter #3 is getting married!

Ohgawd, how I can't wait for this weekend to be over... the females of the household are beginning to stress out over the wedding - the last-minute details, is everything done, is everyone invited, will the wedding be just "perfect", etc...

Meanwhile, Daddy will crack open a bottle of Cutty Sark, and begin to look for recipes of Valium gumbo to feed the women!

Deep-fried Diazepam... a new Southern delicacy!

LOL, good luck Daddy! After raising 3 daughters, you deserve a whole case of Cutty Sark! Guess it's too late for David Tutera to step in and make sure things are perfect, huh?

    "Here comes the bride!"

OK, so the retreat wasn't so bad today. There were only 12 of us sitting around a U-shaped table. Captive audience, for sure... even looking bored wasn't a good idea with our new asst BIG boss in attendance. The good part was that everybody had a say about issues and I like it anytime somebody asks my opinion. ROFLMAO

Made some good points, didn't embarrass myself and one of my suggestions was a big hit.

Since I used to work in that area, got elected to suggest a place for lunch... called a contact and found out about a kewl new hamburger joint called The Stack Shack that was 4 blocks away and it was a HUGE hit! Great burgers (pricey, too... $12 cheeseburger, fries, coke). They had an open deck upstairs with a great view of downtown and in the shade of a big ole elm tree. Perfect choice!

    Dam I'm good!!!

(Did I mention they had donuts?)

    *dances*

I gotta tell ya I don't like Retreats.Don't cotton at all.
I had to go on Retreat in 8th Grade because my Parochial School had a
new Nun who was very " With It " very Pro Vatican II.very into being
progressive and Folk mass. She was like many Nun,very austere and tough as nails.
Could probably whip Obama's noodle in seconds flat.
I still occassionaly have nightmare about that Retreat. It wasn't a big deal other
than I felt like a prisoner, the entire time.I had been to summer camps so it
wasn't like I was unfamalier with being away from my bed.
I felt trapped and had to do things with a Big happy Face as if in a
Billy Jack movie and that dopey wife a his Dolores Taylor who reminds me of
    my 8th grade sister {nun}.

Yep. Retreats haven't changed a bit, Foolie. Same feelings of isolation and forced behavior you had in the 8th grade. At least the one today didn't include forced fun. Those are the worst.

I think retreats are done more for those who set them up.Like it gives them a reason
to exist for a week.Like when a parent decides to have a project around the house.
hate projects, also.Like ain't Life actually a Project in the works.
Sometimes mankind lets his folly git the better a hisself.Or herself when it
    involves curtains and the like.

Commissioning Day here at the Air Force ROTC. This is the first group of cadets I've seen go all the way through the program and now they'll all leave me. My kids...into the wild blue yonder...

    Morning y'all!
