Such a good Christian to deliberately and explicitly disregard the words of Jesus himself, even as he says the ones that come immediately after Jesus telling his followers to not pray aloud in public as part of a spectacle.
Even the devil can quote Scripture, Akhlut. Christians pray in public all the time, its called church.
That doesn't change the clear directive that Jesus laid out. It simply illuminates another way Christians ignore Him.
The censorship of his freedom of religion and free speech rights forbidding him to include anything about God in his speech. You didn't read the story did you.
Eh, I like it. I don't like the militant atheism or religion much, but I can respect a person who pushes back when someone tries to impede his way of life or beliefs. Thought there's really no heroic stand here...
You don't understand those freedoms if you think the school was violating it. - - - Updated - - - I wonder how excited these people would be if he started his speech.... In the name of Allah the merciful one.
BUT, he was at that point graduated, so hence the student rules no longer applied to him so hence he broke no school rules. As another poster mentioned, I bet you would not be applauding had the student said a Muslim prayer and his parents for bringing them to Allah. Go ahead, claim otherwise.
There was ZERO censorship of his or anyone else's freedom of religion or speech. The school removed state sponsored prayer from the event. Why do you believe that it is the job of the government to sponsor religious activity?
The school forbid him from invoking his personal faith. That is not the school sponsoring it if they simply let him express it.
Who was it that said "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's"? Who pays for public schooling? Who didn't listen to Jesus? - - - Updated - - - So people should be able to express their personal views at state sponsored events? Would you still be a fan if the kid had been islamic?
People like you scare me. You label anything that isn't part of your narrow world view as satanic. I guess it makes it easier to justify your prejudice and hatred.
Once again, this is a problem created by state involvement. Get rid of the public school system, refund all that tax, and it disappears. There was a time not too long ago when there were no Federal public schools. Heads didn't explode.
Jesus said that people should pray in private. He never said one prayer in public. Church is public. Praying in public is a sin. People who pray in church are violating one of Jesus's commandments. Matthew 7:26-27 =(CEV) = "Anyone who hears my teachings and doesnt obey them is like a foolish person who built a house on sand. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded, and the winds blew and beat against that house. Finally, it fell with a crash." The kid will be swimming in the lake of fire.
