This will be interesting to see how he'll be utilized on a team with one of the best QB's in the league. Patriots' signing of QB Tim Tebow could be coach Bill Belichick's latest masterstroke http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--p...elichick-s-latest-masterstroke-223318894.html
If anyone can figure out how to use Tebow effectively it's Bill Belechick. OTOH, this could be a Belechick head game, get the opposition coaching staff spending an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out what Tebow will be used for and how to stop it, and spending less time on working out how to defend against Brady's passing game...
Good for Tebow. The brought him in obviously as a replacement for Gronkowski and with Bradey in his last few years Tebow may get some playing time.
Great matchup of player/team/coach. The Patriots have been the whitest team in the NFL over the last decade, and not surprisingly, the best. This is a perfect fit for a white, straight, Christian player from both a locker room and fan perspective. Bellechick and Brady don't allow the usual NFL black run locker room nonsense to go on in New England.
Lessee, who tried that? Oh, yea. The whole SEC while he was winning National Championships and a Heisman trophy.
The odds are he will not be playing at QB at any time, think tight end and you might see him play again, he simply does not have the talent to play QB in the NFL. - - - Updated - - - College and the NFL are very different and anyone that knows anything about football knows this, many a great college player was a bust in the NFL.
http://www.shrpsports.com/cf/heismann.htm What a shock most of the QB's are busts... But they won in College.... Whoopie
"Don't rush him"? Yeah, Tebow would really hate that... and then rack up even more yards on the ground than he customarily does anyway! Well, we in Bronco land have already seen what can happen to a QB of even Peyton Manning's legendary wonderfulness when the offensive line doesn't give him enough pass protection, and the receivers can't/don't/won't get OPEN in the first place. Tebow suffered under these, uh, "challenges", too, but they won't be nearly such a factor at New England. Predictions: This may be the season we Bronco people dread... one in which some enterprising enemy lineman or linebacker ends what's left of Peyton Manning's career in a single blow. Manning will have been the one shot that Elway had of re-creating the reincarnation of Elway, but for naught.... Tim Tebow will become a vital part of the Patriots' formidable offense from day-one, and either take Brady's place in the future, or, hopefully, be traded to another team who can use real talent, strength, and ability. And that "other" team would NOT be Denver....
And just how is Tebow a bust? He is just hated for being who he is and is not afraid to show it. Too bad he aint gay or a whore monger steriod addict. Then he would be welcomed with open arms.
Exactly....he is hated because he is a strong, White, Christian male who is not shy about talking about his convictions........he is the antithesis of a current era NFL player. If he were black, with his skill set, he would be given multiple opportunities to start as a QB in the NFL.........unfortunately, the NFL only wants black "dual-threat" QBs.......just like they only want black RBs and cornerbacks, etc.
I thought people hated on Tebow because he got tons of media attention he didn't ask for, nor tried to sway. Or that he can't throw.
He can throw, other QBs have had side arm or odd throwing motions. Recievers get used to them. Tebow can throw easy 60 yds, I have seen him do it flat footed not even stepping into it.
Because everything in the NFL is about race now. Not enough black QBs, not enough black coaches, not enough black owners. You think Mike Vick would still be playing if he were white? Not just no, but hell no.
You could make the argument that half of the names since 2000 have had some kind of success, while the others have been.....not so successful. But it's not always just that one player who was good in college and then falls apart in Pros. Case and point Sam Bradford, who was on a bad Rams team with Steven Jackson being the only great player and some meager WRs. Pointless note: I don't know what the problem is with players from USC.
No, he can't. At least not at a level consistent with that of a starter in the NFL. His former teammates have said as much.
Thank you...........Vick is the perfect example of the dual standard............oh, and did I mention that Ryan Swope ran a 4.28 forty at the combine......but didn't get drafted until the 6th round........or that the leading receiver in the NFL for the past six years went undrafted and was cut by his first team?..........all due to lack of melanin content.
Hey, I really like Tebow, I'm a Gator, so it's manditory, but get real. Tebow take Brady's place....not a chance in hell that'll happen...ever!
HAHAHAHA @ Tebow replacing Brady ever. Wouldn't he have to go through Ryan Mallett, the 1st backup, anyway?
