This is my worst nightmare. Tebow may be a limited quarterback (there are lot of quarterbacks wearing Super Bowl rings who were no better) but he is a winner. Belichick will find a way to let Tebow affect the game.

Maybe a backup QB. Maybe a wildcat specialist. Maybe a running back. Maybe a special teamer.

Tom Brady was a nobody from a run-happy Michigan but the Patriots saw something in him and let him sit behind Drew Bledsoe until he was needed.

Assuming the Pats even go for the wildcat option....

Are you dont spinning out of control over every little thing thinking everyone is a racist that tells the OBVIOUS truth?
    No?
Do we need to start going through the list of things black players have done and gotten little to no punishment.
LaGarrette Bounte come to mind, hey I think he is with the Pats right now. Hmmmm, maybe Tebow can teach him some humility.

The Patriots may put in a wildcat option. Belichick does the darndest things. Tebow brings a very credible run or pass option into the wildcat that most wildcat backs (who tend to be running backs who played some read-option QB in high school or college). Tebow may not be Peyton Manning, but he has a much more credible passing option than any wildcat operator out there.

That said, five snaps of wildcat per game is a lot in the NFL these days.

I just can't make myself like New England, even though I'm a big believer in Tim Tebow. Guess that's why I hope he gets traded to another team that I can root for, while I root for Tim!

Make no mistake, Elway is running the show out here in Denver, and Fox is just window-dressing. Manning takes the wrong hit, one time, and we're ****ed for another two or three years, at least....

    Let's not make it personal...

Since you and I are the only Tebow fans on this thread; we don't want to alienate the whole board.

There is a pathological dislike of Tebow that goes far beyond his QB ratings...mediocre throwing style and unorthdox playing style...it goes well beyond just his skills...or lack of them. There are lots of over-rated, over-hyped players in the NFL...again I bring up Michael Vick...is an 8-8 record and no playoff appearance worth 100 millioin dollars? Say what you will about Tebow, but he's not over-paid like many flash in the pans...yet Vick is free of criticism....clearly in terms of play and statistics...Vick is at best an average QB in the NFL....certainly not up there with the elites...not worth building a team around. Yet virtually no criticsm. He is paid 100 millioin dollars to be at best...an average NFL quaterback. Nary a word of negativity.

It's a reflection on the demise of our culture... a guy who basically stays out of trouble..has a fantastic work ethic...is not relatable....nope.......fans like the "bad boys"...because the "bad boy." is relatable.

Would you like a snapshot of America?

The United States has had the highest incarceration rate in the world. The U.S. rate is 500 prisoners per 100,000 residents. the highest in the WORLD....

    Welcome to the NFL

National Felon League....it's a mirror of our culture...and our culture is declining...it's reflected in the pathological hatred of Tim Tebow that goes well beyond his play on the field...he's simply not relatable....because the average citizen...near abouts...resides in the gutter with the rest of the criminal trash...they're relatable.

I sure Tebow is a class act and i wish there was more players like him in that regard. I cant be the only one that is sick and tired of the media circus that follows him 24/7. Outside of Butt Fumble Tebow was the biggest story for the Jets last year and he barely played.

I guess because Michael Vick is living in the typical redemption story, from the criminal issue to getting a chance with the Eagles and sorta reviving his career, but he does get criticized all the time for running too much and getting hurt in the process.

I agree. Belichick won't care if Timmy Tebow celebrates a score by dancing like Tommy Tune, thumping a bible, or taking a leak on the goal post - as long as he scores.

actually that is not why people are down on Tebow....dozens of players pray, in fact some do it so often they have become ministers. The difference is that Tebow's Christian image was not only worn on his sleeve he parleyed it into a PR campaign. You see most of the outloud Christians in the NFL are not as clean cut. When Ray Lewis thanks God for everything and holds prayer meetings people don't see that as clean cut. When the late Reggie White did it he was seen as being over the top. But mainstream Christians could embrace Tebow because he didn't play a position that involves the attack mentality, he was never in trouble with the law, he grew up upper middle class and face it he is good looking to a whole lot of people (I hear he is an icon in some gay communities). But despite his lack of talent for the NFL position of quarterback he could win in Denver. Some say it was in spite of him and I was out of the country for part of the time he was playing but he won. But he also had the worst quarterback rating of any starter every over more than a few games.

He is a good and well conditioned athlete. The circus he brings with him is minor compared to many in the league and frankly we can see on this thread he will bring fans just because he is white and Christian (while I think people who do that are fools in many ways). Tebow is likable and a good coach will get him to produce, just I don't think at QB. But we will see.

Bah. He didn't. He was courted, he never went out looking. The difference is he is a white dude. When asked his opinion on things he would try to wiggle out of giving it.

The point is not Tebow but the people making fun of him. It's classless but do as you like. I'm a stranger and my opinion should mean nothing to you.

Well said......yep, the average self-loathing drunk white fan hates Tebow for who he is......they've been conditioned to cheer for the criminal element black players like Ray Lewis who was involved in a double murder and does some clown-ass Zulu dance before every game.....rather than someone who just returned from a double mission trip. Tebow is a throwback to a world most drunk white fans can't even remember.........because they've been walking around for years wearing a jersey with some black player's name on the back.

And ye, it was done. Tim Tebow was officially signed by the New England Patriots on Tuesday, a day after the rumors and reports nearly shut down the Internet.

The team announced the deal Tuesday morning with a press conference from Bill Belichick planned at 10:45 a.m. ET. CNN and other major media networks are already in the neighborhood apparently. It should be fun.

Less fun will be Tebow's first few days on the Patriots. He's a good fit with the team but the media crush during his initial run with the team is going to be brutal even though he's simply a backup quarterback trying to make the team.

There's no guarantee of that either. And if you don't believe me, well, the numbers speak for themselves: Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Tebow's signed a two-year deal with no guaranteed money.

Having Tebow on or off the team by the time the season rolls around and the Patriots are getting down to a 53-man roster isn't a big deal for Belichick. They don't owe him any money, they only owe him, now, a slight chance to earn a spot on their roster.

Whether or not he ends up making it may very well depend on whether or not the media hype dies down as the season approaches.

One thing's for certain though. The media is ready. To wit -- today's front page from the Boston Herald via the always fantastic folks at Newseum:

The hatred for Tebow stems from his race and his religion. Niether of which he brings front and center. The critics do.
I gave a short list of a long line of black players that are still in the leauge that are either over the hill, bring baggage by the truck load, never were any good.
Its no secret that those players are on teams because of race. It aint talent, it aint marketability.
And RP12 is the one that had to bring the fact that his wife is christian into it, while calling me a racist. I know racists and pro sports are not what they follow.

At least he has gone to a team that if he says he wont talk to the media they wont make him. And that is what he should do.
Let that left arm talk. Let them legs talk. Keep the mouth shut and ignore them all.

I'm not making this into a "racial" thing...plenty of white players are involved with the criminal element...the point is, the fans relate more to that than as you say...going on a mission overseas to help the poor...they relate more to multiple DUIs and throwing dollar bills at strippers....

The deep seeded dislike for Tebow goes beyond just abilities....it's cultural. A large chunk of the citizenry..and I use the term "citizen" loosely...relate more to the criminal element than the spiritual. The NFL fanbase...case in point.

Patriots did not have a 3rd string QB last season. The chance of Tebow making the final roster is minimal.

See, to many that is a racist comment. No matter if there is any truth to it, its racist. RP12 wont like you.
