Let's play what's more dangerous than.... The first installment...what's more dangerous than being a cop? I thought of a better way to play this game. The rules are....I have the statistics to prove the answer. The answer is only one of the poll choices. Since I abbreviated the choices I'll elaborate here. The answer is based on how more people die statistically...versus line of duty deaths of cops by gunfire (not accidents or heart attacks). So the poll...what's more dangerous than being a cop? Cop is more dangerous than other two. Falling between a rock or stuck in your wall is more dangerous. Using your toilet and it exploding is more dangerous.
"What difference does it make?" When you are in danger, you are in danger; and at such times you do not stop to ask . . . but is this danger really significant in comparison to -- say -- a juggler playing with unstable nitroglycerin? No, because danger is of relevance to the person perceiving that danger and to his or her (such as it might be) lifetime of exposure to the same, or lack of exposure thereof. All of which is why there are established rules for police officers and their perception of danger. All of which is also why there is some variance in those rules from locality to locality. So . . . being a police officer is generally more dangerous than the existence of the -- oh let's say -- average gated community leftwinger posting about Law Enforcement Officers until perhaps said leftwinger realizes that he or she is personally in danger and desperately needs the help of an armed police officer. Weird how that works out, isn't it?
Many jobs are dangerous. Police officer doesn't make the Top 10 list: The 10 Deadliest Jobs: 1. Logging workers 2. Fishers and related fishing workers 3. Aircraft pilot and flight engineers 4. Roofers 5. Structural iron and steel workers 6. Refuse and recyclable material collectors 7. Electrical power-line installers and repairers 8. Drivers/sales workers and truck drivers 9. Farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural managers 10. Construction laborers SOURCE
one job that takes a lot of cajones are those guys who work the high powered tension lines. They have to be air-lifted by helicopter several hundred feet into the air, manipulate a work pad, then hook themselves to a ground while working on 75,000 volts in each wire they handle. To me, that takes more balls than being a cop and is a lot more hazardous to their life. If it wasn't for these fearless men, cops wouldn't have a job. No electricity, no work
lol, being a criminal..... seriously though it depends on the kind of Cop, many cops never face danger and when they do.... they panic
And then there are cops that make a routine traffic stop and are shot in the face. That cop kissed his wife, as he does every day, pulls someone over to issue a ticket for going 12 over, and gets shot. http://www.sunherald.com/2014/11/23/5930705/gulfport-officer-shot-multiple.html Criminals are such cowards
According to your ludicrous bravado in the other thread, I'd say more dangerous than being a cop... is the person standing in the line of fire behind the cop. Since you say they should take a shot, before protecting peoples' lives. Because the cop is wearing Kevlar.... the dead bystander wasn't.
yes, many jobs have risks, a pizza delivery guy could be hit by a truck on his next delivery and be mangled and polarized for life
Nobody gets a guaranteed risk-free life. My neighbor's wife died in a single vehicle accident -- on a bicycle.
That wasn't the topic. The topic was dangerous jobs. Are you saying it's not dangerous to pull over people you don't know could be violent offenders? Lol, troll.
If they're carrying a loaded firearm? Yes. It's dangerous. The topic is not risk, but relative risk. Being a police officer is a relatively risk free occupation, your resorting to ad hominem attack notwithstanding.
It's more dangerous to be on the government handout welfare. When this house of cards fail you will be in bad shape
OH...This ones easy Being caught between Sheila Jackson Lee and a Camera.............. Most dangerous ..........
I don't find your poll the least bit funny. Why leave out heart attacks and accidents? Those officers also died while on the job in uniform. Anyway, I had just posted this video in another thread, and thought, wouldn't it be nice for the OP to view this and then tell us why he thinks it is okay to mock the deaths of police officers with a stupid poll. The vast majority of cops are good people, who have a very hard job and do their job as professionally as possible.
Consider the source folks. The same person that started this Attack the Cops thread has at least one more doing the same thing and has another that says Christians should stop paying their taxes. What I believe have here is someone that seriously has issues with both government which they refer to as Satanic and with police officers. It is a common issue with select people in this Nation and unfortunately every once in a while one of them will go off the deep end and we all get to read and listen to what happened to result in a tragic event. Not good folks.
How is it a slap in their face? It's not like their job is very dangerous or any thing. You're lucky I didn't add deaths by foreign objects entering the body through natural orofices not a choking hazard. Yes it is an official statical record of all deaths nation wide due to dildos (no joke)...cops don't even come close to how many people die every year to dildos. Not as many as how many people are shot by cops tho.
