It would be weird if nobody supported the Muslim travel ban just like it would be weird if you ever get a 100% vote supporting anything issue in the world. So because some people support it does not make it right..
Those who don't learn from the past will be doomed to repeat it. Boston Marathon, World Trade Center... These events taught me that there are places in the world where we aren't well liked. Personally I think it is prudent to stop bringing people here from countries where the vast majority of residents feel this way.
https://willjordanborderline.wordpr...muslim-ban-and-public-opinion/comment-page-1/ It already is. Trump won the election. Get used to it.
Why do you call him a fascist? Is it because other people do and you're just following along? Definition of fascism 1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition Sound like Obama was the real fascist, not Trump.
For one, they called it a Muslim ban, no matter how much they try to change that optics, that is just what it is and that is so wrong. I am glad he wants to make America safe and I am all in for that but we can't discriminate and expect us to me respected or better liked, I am sure there are better constitutional way of making this happen!!
I can't agree with you less on that, we should always learn from our past but we don't want to do that my creating more hatred and hostility. Remember there are Americans everywhere in the world as well, doing business, living there with family, or touring and we wouldn't want any one of them to feel the effect of that hostility. I have traveled a little and if you ask some of them out there, they would say America started it first by targeting them and creating war and instability in their country and here in the state, we say they started it by causing destruction in our cities, so have you ever sat down to think all this is a very gigantic mess of misunderstanding??
You do realize that judges - all over the country - constantly makes decisions that potentially subject the public to risk. And, indeed, there are literally tens of thousands of stories of individuals who went out, committed crimes (even murder), after a judge's decision. How often do you think those judges were "tried for treason" or hell, "convicted of a crime" because of those decisions?
If the law applies to the entire country, then the entire country's court systems can and will review the law.
The President has the Constitutional authority to ban any non-citizen from entering the United States. This judge is an (*)(*)(*).
The President has the Constitutional authority to ban any non-citizen from entering the United States. This judge is an (*)(*)(*).
President does not have the Constitutional Authority to ban people simply due to their nationality or religion.
Feel free to edit your post to include some or all of this information so that folks who are interested can review the reasoning. Notable excerpts from the 43 page ruling: Addressing the governments position on the order's "neutrality": On balancing of equities, harms: tldr: Trump and co. incessantly promised a Muslim ban, argues this isn't it. Court doesn't buy it. Gavel down.
You mean like the law that allows the president plenary power over immigration? This is judicial supremacy that the Framers warned about and of course it is a liberal judge that abuses the power.
Please go here and read the 43 page order: http://www.politico.com/f/?id=0000015a-d421-db68-a97b-d5e934210000 Or you can review a few choice quotes from my post #49.
Because it's not permanent, a 90 day pause, and out of 57 Muslim majority countries only eight are named. But hey continue with your selective self righteous indignation it is somewhat entertaining.
The posts are not numbered on my phone. Do you know what plenary means? Also, how does our constitution apply to people that are not citizens or residing in the county?
Two things make Hawaii's case a joke: 1. This is a quote from the story; The state also argued the ban would harm its tourism industry. How many people from the banned countries visit Hawaii? 2. And this is another part of the quote: as well as its ability to recruit foreign students and workers. That line of attack comes from the most racist state in the country.
