The Orange County Register reports that other cities — and even Orange County itself — are now thinking of following suit (original links):

The County of Orange and several cities in Southern California soon might join Los Alamitos in its bid to opt out of a controversial state law that limits cooperation with federal immigration officials.

Officials with the county as well as leaders in Aliso Viejo and Buena Park said Tuesday they plan to push for various versions of the anti-sanctuary ordinance approved in Los Alamitos late Monday by a 4-1 vote of that city council.

Immigration advocates said Los Alamitos and cities and counties that follow its opt-out ordinance will be violating state law and at risk of litigation.

But Los Alamitos’ anti-sanctuary push also received wide attention in conservative media, and gained support from those who don’t agree with California’s protective stance on all immigrants, regardless of legal status.

America is a nation of laws which is why the un-American actions of democrats at the state level are being rejected by the people.

I'd like to see the Feds put these democrats in jail for aiding criminals as well.

Jerry Brown is a fool. People have short term memory hence he got voted into the office of Governor for a second time.

California has already set a precedence in stating which laws they they can ignore and which laws they can enact. They don't have the right to be indignant when their own cities in a sense begin to do the same thing.

Actually it was Southern Jim Crow states that set that precedent when George Wallace, Lester Maddox, Orvile Faubus, etc. just decided
they would refuse to segregate schools and other public accommodations in direct opposition to federal civil rights legislation.
That makes Jerry Brown a proud and direct descendant of that line of political thought.

I'm surprised he doesn't roll his shirt sleeves up and brandish an axe handle in places like San Diego when ICE recently made over 100 arrests of illegals there, standing in the path of federal agents, blocking them from enforcing federal law. It would be a proper homage to
    his Jim Crow predecessors.

The solution is simple. They feel bad for these people and their heart is in the right place. We should let them adopt an alien. Be responsible for their expenses and their actions and take them into your home. Under the new Adopt an Alien program, they can help create a pathway to citizenship by taking responsibility instead of insisting that others do.

So it’s an illegal violation of State law subject to litigation when a city defies the State who is illegally violating Federal law?

    Welcome to clown world.

Jerry Brown..... Jim Crowe. You decide.

Ask Jerry why he needs sanctuary cities? Not quite enough human trafficking yet for his taste? Not enough victimization of illegal immigrants? This is truly the plantation that Jerry so willfully demands his state become. What's next? Interstate slavery escapee returns? It's like it is 1848 all over again...

Don't feed the troll! He simply spouts nonsense and lies regardless of what reality shows.
It's illegal to prevent federal immigration officers from enforcing the law of the land yet that's exactly and explicitly what sanctuary policy is:
It requires non cooperation with federal immigration laws and enforcement and it purposely impedes and obstructs compliance with federal law.

Do not for a second think it's a coincidence the people who want bigger government are the same people who hate strong men and firearms. Liberalism has always been about subjugation and they want to remove the obstacles to their power.

Finally some sensible Californians are realizing that, besides being illegal, illegals don't contribute as much as they take. Many of them work under the table, there is a huge underground economy in CA which goes un-taxed, plus there is the cost of their healthcare, educations, crimes, prison incarceration, clogging the roads, using water and electric CA sometimes doesn't have, plus I'm sure illegals don't give a crap about pollution.

These cities shouldn't simply opt out of CA's stupid law, they should aggressively target and arrest illegals and hand them over to ICE. Having lived in CA for 21 years near the border of OC, I can say with a good degree of certainty that those fine folks don't want their cities ending up like LA and having to deal with all the crime, poverty and other things illegals bring about.

That's Crow (no e,. by the way), and Jerry Brown and sanctuary proponents every bit as guilty of obstruction of our federal laws as the
segregationists that stood in school doorways and refused to let black children inside.

The only difference is Libby Schaff and Nancy Pelosi, along with Governor Moonbeam, are standing in front of ICE immigration officers, in effect, making sure they can't do their jobs and federal immigration law cannot be effectively enforced. They should all be in jail themselves.
