In a crowded space? Ok. Should have told that dude with a bump stock.

So, fewer do it, I imagine. That's a big obstacle.

Absolutely he would have been more effective with semi auto fire. Bump stocks are crap. As horrible as the incident was, it would have been worse if he wasn’t using a bump stock. It’s a stupid fad.

Nah, he definitely killed more by spraying the crowd than he would have semi. He had tracers and all.

IF the cops were armed, as common sense dictates, they would have done what cops are trained to do, take out the perp. Would the chances of that happening be more or less if they were armed?

It takes like a second to reacquire a target after squeezing off a round. Just that act of reacquiring before you send off another round will drastically increase your chances of a hit. Bump stocks throw your aim all over the place, even worse than a normally fully automatic weapon, which is already not very accurate after the first round. Disciplined fire, reacquiring a target after each pull of the trigger would have made the incident much worse.

Drunk and armed? More likely they would shoot each other, not knowing each other. No thanks.

Everything has to be "just so" for this fantasy of yours to play out...and it doesn't translate to the rest of the world. There just aren't usually going to be highly trained, armed people around.

Well thank goodness all mass shooters are not trained commandos, like yourself.

Sounds like a perfect place for a massacre. Go figure.

So everyone who enters a bar gets drunk?

Armed citizens stop more crimes than the police do, here is a link with hundreds of such instances: https://www.americanrifleman.org/the-armed-citizen/

I doubt the relatives of these dead victims would appreciate the attitude of sheeple like you, who prefer to call the cops so they can show up in a half hour and draw a chalk line around their body. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, and an honest armed citizen is society's free cop.

Besides a gun convention, gun club, police station, military base...what isn't?

Yes, a moving target is a challenge.

A person cowering under a table is an easy kill.

Would I have to say everyone gets drunk to guess that some or all of the off duty officers are drinking or drunk? Nope.

Okay, but what to take from this? Arm yourself, if you want. I prefer places where most people aren't armed. I like businesses that say, "leave it in the car". Especially bars. And concerts.

One thing the NRA bots seem to be unaware of is the general risk that comes with having guns around. A gun may be seized and misused by someone else. A gun may be used by its owner in the heat of the moment. A gun may go off accidentally. There is no shortage of such crimes and accidents. Having more guns around will only result in more injuries and deaths.

This is not a valid argument. It is an appeal to authority.

But they weren't, because they were out drinking, which policy dictates.

The general risk of having no gun when you need it is obviously far worse.

Ummmmm... more than an active shooter who is not confronted by someone else with a gun? Stupidest **** I’ve ever heard. I’ll take my chances with my gun, thanks.
