Hmm, this guy was picked up by the authorities after having shot a hole in his wall during an argument, and somehow the authorities didn't think they could put him in the mental ward for 72 hours? That, and California has a so-called red flag law. Sounds like a failure in police work/mental health.

Show me the evidence of one every few days that kills 4 or more?

Most of them are mentally ill.

Captain obvious says they should have kept guns and matches out of his reach. I grew up knowing where the gun was and knew how to use it if necessary. Times change.

Once again the gunphobes want to blame objects instead of people. How they generalize gun owners while blasting everyone else for doing the same thing is hypocrisy at it's finest. So many children across america do just fine with having a gun in the home, some even own and *gasp* like to go shooting with their parents oh the horror, . I remember being a kid in Alaska and my dad taking me out to shoot clay pigeons, certainly never thought to pick up a rifle and shoot someone though, sounds like severe mental illness. Then after that we beheaded a goose to make christmas dinner. I had to pluck the feathers out myself, Im sure their heads would of exploded at such sights. Too funny

Guns are constructive. They help provufe food on the table and they help protect innicent lives.

Provufe food? Americans are cannibals, are they? Potrect innicent lives? Have you never had a look at the tally? I'd say the ratio is about 85 innicent people murdered with guns for every 1 innicent person potrected. And no matter how you look at it - guns are made to put holes in things (destructive). Cars are made for transportation (constructive).

You are right, it is actually much more than hundreds of times more. There were 41 million speeding tickets alone handed out last years.

You're forgetting that many Americans live in very rural parts of the country and hunting helps suppliment their food source.
At the very least, there are 50,000 defensive gun use cases per year. That's almost 5 times the amount of times gun have been used to murder.

Maybe you don't know very much about guns. A bullet leaves the barrel of a gun at an even higher rate of speed.

So it's OK for madmen to shoot everything in sight in the city because a few people out in the boonies like to shoot rabbits? Yeah, right.

Nice deflection. I only require of myself to respond to the parts that need a response.

That wasn't what I said and therefore not a deflection. If you really want a straight answer, no one is saying it's ok to shoot kids.

So you think is bad to shoot kids but OK to shoot men and women.

Yes, because if I don't mention a specific group of people by name then I want them to be shot.

Because you want to make this a race thing.
"Compared with white men, the researchers found that black men experienced 27 more firearm homicides per 100,000 people annually nationwide (29.12 for black men vs. 2.1 for white men). The states with the highest rates of firearm homicide among black men in the data -- namely Missouri, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana -- also had the largest disparities between blacks and whites, the researchers found."

When you consider that whites make up 70% of the population and as a group are twice a likely to own guns, this clearly shows black men are much more likely to be involved in a gun homicide.

Sarcasm isn't your strong suit. It's not ok for any innocent person to be shot.

So when you carry a gun and shoot someone .... you are the judge and jury who's determined he/she was not "any innocent person"?

If I'm carrying a gun and someone is trying to rob me, I'll defend myself with my firearm. Once the incident is over, I'll cooperate with the police's investigation.

So you think stealing is a capital offense and that theft is the same as attempted murder, hence you need to defend yourself. That's nice. :bye: Looks more like defence of your property. Maybe you should purchase theft insurance and save someone's life.
