    “He never signed a deal.”
    “There was.... an agreement...”

    https://www.thesaurus.com/browse/deal

Okay, okay, what you’re saying is that after all the celebratory back slaps in this forum after Trump signed a deal with Kim, it actually wasn’t a deal... but an agreement (deal) to work on a deal. Like, wait, you mean THE CRITICS of this “deal” were actually correct, and Trump was parading around a nothing compromise that actually didn’t hold any binding authority? Yeah, we know. Glad you guys are finally catching up with the rest of us.

And his sanctions on Venezuela are creating another immigration crisis. They make up a third of claimants now as US does its best to tank that economy.

Funny right-wingers can't see cause and effect. Want to stop the imaginary immigration crisis? Reconsider your own failed policies in Latin America.

Well none of them are binding. People can get out, we have no way to enforce it. The critics were wrong because it was ground breaking and we still aren’t done

Well if things fall through, we can always go back to the tariffs.

    No worries.

Not sure what you mean, his fault? I think the announcement was just made, so not sure the Mexican Govt has the military on their border yet. This is a massive step in the right direction.

The very least Trump did with N. Korea was a great deal more than his predecessors ever accomplished.

Why is it not a national emergency? Bush declared it one when there were far fewer migrants coming across. Obama declared it one when there were far fewer migrants coming across. A sizable number of 'asylum seekers' are literally abducting or renting kids in order to present as a family so they can get in. God only knows what happens to those kids once the adult is safely inside. Many in the caravans are seriously ill with communicable diseases. Pretty much all knowledgeable of the situation agree that up to 80% of women and girls making the trip from Central America are raped, most multiple times, some multiple times daily. The migrants include MS 13 members, known terrorists, felons of the worst sort. and yes there are those who are normal, good people who just want a better life like billions of others in the world.

Our acting border patrol chief who was Obama's former border patrol chief declares it an emergency. As do all the border patrol, 60% of whom are taking care of sick and miserable migrants in their custody instead of being out doing their jobs.

The Democrats will not lift a finger to help and the majority Democrats in the House hold all the power to do something. The very Americans demanding that we just let all these hundreds of thousands of people in no questions asked sure as hell don't want them in their cities.

What in any of this is not a crisis? Humanitarian? Financially? Morally? Ethically? Practically?

He does never miss an opportunity to try to look good.
The great negotiator negotiated an already done deal.

WASHINGTON — The deal to avert tariffs that President Trump announced with great fanfare on Friday night consists largely of actions that Mexico had already promised to take in prior discussions with the United States over the past several months, according to officials from both countries who are familiar with the negotiations.

Friday’s joint declaration says Mexico agreed to the “deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border.” But the Mexican government had already pledged to do that in March during secret talks in Miami between Kirstjen Nielsen, then the secretary of homeland security, and Olga Sanchez, the Mexican secretary of the interior, the officials said.

The centerpiece of Mr. Trump’s deal was an expansion of a program to allow asylum-seekers to remain in Mexico while their legal cases proceed. But that arrangement was reached in December in a pair of painstakingly negotiated diplomatic notes that the two countries exchanged. Ms. Nielsen announced the Migrant Protection Protocols during a hearing of the House Judiciary Committee five days before Christmas.

And over the past week, negotiators failed to persuade Mexico to accept a “safe third country” treaty that would have given the United States the legal ability to reject asylum seekers if they had not sought refuge in Mexico first.

Didn’t act in what? You’re replying to an article excerpt that says they were acting already.

They aren't used to seeing a POTUS successfully implementing his agenda.

They thought Obama was a good POTUS.

Not so. Emergency meetings were held over the past few days. If the agreement was in place, and being followed, these meetings and tariff threats would be unnecessary.

Funny left-wingers can't see cause and effect. "And his sanctions on Venezuela"...are you calling Obama's sanctions "his sanctions", under EO 13692? No, its blame Trump week again isn't it?

    Source for the “tweaking” comments?

It’s obvious to most people that bonespurs might not have had enough support to be able to impose tariffs in the face of Congressional action to repeal them, and Mexico threw him a bone so that he can prance around claiming “victory”. That seems to be a reoccurring theme with him.
