    Somebody had to have the common sense to figure that if the last 70 years of state department bullshit has not worked you got to try something different. Maybe it won't work, but at least you didn't stick with the same damn failing insanity.

    The tariffs were scheduled to start at 5%, not 25%.

    And yes, this is exactly what happened with China. The US and US hammered out a deal at the G20, Trump suspended the tariffs, and then China reneged on the deal. So what did Trump do? He re-instated the tariffs.

    Tariffs as a tool of foreign policy work with nations that have more to lose with a tariff battle with the US than the US has to lose. In the case of both of those nations, they need us more than we need them (at this time).

    And you guys were worried that Trump was going to be an isolationist! He's extremely engaged with foreign policy.

    Who stopped Trump from building a wall, with the Democrat leadership calling any wall |Imooral". Of course the Democrats also believe that there is only a "manufactured crisis" at the border.

    Do you feel that the number of illegals crossing the border is helping or hurting Americans?

    Mexico had already agreed to these things as part of a deal, Trump wanted them to agree to be a safe country, he failed, so he went and agreed to what Mexico already agreed to and called it a win, Trump knew Republicans were gonna freak if he did a 25% tariff on Mexico, so he backed off and called it a win anyways, lol

    Although I agree that the DACA kids are deserving of consideration because they didn't come of their own volition, their parents clearly did and any DACA deal should also deport the parents. If the parents stay, than it tells the entire world that all you have to do to stay and get legal status is to bring a kid.

    That's clearly what the Central Americans think.

    United States and Mexico Sign Key Part of Immigration Deal, Trump Says

    The United States and Mexico signed a key portion of an immigration dealwhich will require approval by Mexico’s legislative body, President Donald Trump announced on June 10.

    The details of the agreement would be released in “the not too distant future,” Trump wrote on Twitter. The president added that if Mexico’s legislature fails to deliver the approval, the White House would follow through on a threat to raise tariffs on Mexican imports.
