You posted nothing to refute you whined about Trump playing golf and something he said in the campaign now try to address what I posted

The fact is when a hurricane develops the Executive Branch of the federal government does not hunker down in the situation room and direct events.

Who do you think is in charge when a hurricane is imminent and after it strikes?

Only a cult member would characterize the act of civic duty, pointing out a prez's dangerous ineptitude, as petulance.

    FoxHastings said:
Why did he say , during his campaign, that he would be too busy to play golf and razzed Obama for playing golf (which Obama did LESS than Trump) ??????

I see that, as usual, you could not refute one word of the post of mine you quoted.

But keep on with the theme of "Trump is god because he can do no wrong"....it's amusing...

Or, as you keep doing, invent another topic.....like how the Righties screamed and writhed when Obama played golf... :)

    WHY?

You didn't address my post that you quoted....

And your comments had nothing to do with what I posted.....

Ya, and there were lots of righty "petulants" screaming about Obama relaxing...

Those models showing the possible paths of the hurricane do not include details such as what happens to the hurricane over land. See item #7 in the following:

    http://tornado.sfsu.edu/geosciences/classes/m100/hurricanequestions.html

If Dorian had followed a path pointing towards the Gulf and Alabama, it would first cease to be a hurricane while crossing over the Florida peninsula. By the time the now tropical storm reached the Gulf, it would be weakened, broken up, scattered, and any remnants that managed to reach Alabama would be no more dangerous than a normal summer rain storm.

Your snide flippancy is uncalled for. I've been civil with you in spite of that, and in spite of your lack of knowledge on this topic. Do you want to know the facts, even if they show Trump to be a moron about weather and climate? Or do you want to defend your hero regardless of how ignorant it may make you look?

If, by some remote chance, you are interested in facts, here are some more:

    https://sciencing.com/long-hurricane-travel-over-land-12327531.html

"Although there are extremely rare exceptions, landfall equals the ultimate demise of most hurricanes. Hurricanes weaken over land because they are fueled by evaporation from warm ocean water, which dry land surfaces do not provide. After only a few hours over land, hurricanes begin rapidly to deteriorate, with wind speeds decreasing significantly. If they remain over land long enough, they are eventually absorbed into other weather systems or dissipate entirely."

Happy reading, my friend. In future, you may want to do your homework before posting.

    Not according to my source.

Multiple models showed Dorian heading into the gulf.

At least as many of those models showed as much or more of a possibility of affecting AL as VA, and we see how that worked out.

If Trump had been tweeting warnings about VA being affected 6 days ago, the usual suspects would be in here drooling and screeching about it.

    There is nothing to refute
Now answer my question. What is a President supposed to be doing days before a hurricane hits?

Please link to your source that proves that a hurricane could cross the Florida peninsula, maintain cohesion as a hurricane, then strike Alabama, as a hurricane.

Those early models showed Dorian aimed in that direction. I'm not disputing that. What I'm disputing is that it would still be Dorian, a storm big enough for a name, by the time it reached Alabama. Let me know which part of that you don't understand, or maybe actually read the information I so kindly provided previously that explains what happens to hurricanes once they make landfall.

Of course I am. Would you like me to photoshop that image to show California was under threat? (Please don't 'cause I dunno how to fake it.)

Here is what the ignorant don't understand about the picture Trump is holding. That big dotted circle around 8AM in the middle of Florida is the uncertainty range of travel. You will notice on the spaghetti graphs it shows Dorian going through Florida (as the uncertainty range does) or going south of Florida into the Gulf (as the uncertainty range does).

Again, Trump was right and the haters are just hating due to ignorance.

What exact measure should Trump have completed that he didn't complete? I don't want to hear generalities. What *exact step* did he not do that he should have done?

    Libs can't answer this.

If Dorian had taken the path shown in Trump's altered graphic, it would have broken up over the land mass of the Florida peninsula and by the time it made it into the Gulf of Mexico, it would no longer be a hurricane. A tropical storm at worst. Any of the remnants that made it as far as Alabama would be no worse than the average summer rain storm.

I realize that Trump knows nothing and doesn't read, and it seems his supporters won't read either, but I urge you to look it up for yourself. I provided links earlier in this thread, you could start there.

As the picture showed, it could be through a large swath of the Gulf and even skirt south of Florida where it could pick up steam again before hitting the Gulf coast.

Just think, if he said it would hit Cape Hatteras y'all would be saying the same things.

No, actually, we wouldn't, because the whole series of graphics showing the path included the high probability that Cape Hatteras would be hit.

Your hero made a misstatement, but instead of admitting that, he doubled and tripled down with tweets and that graphic that had been so obviously modified with one of those black felt tip pens with which he likes to sign things. The only people he's fooling are his base.
