I checked my total hurricane kit, ran the generator for 15 minutes and added fresh Stabil, bought some batteries and an additional three weeks worth of food, got some additional filters for my water filtration system as Dorian crawled on.

Other than that I made no changes in my life way down south in Mississippi.

Living in Australia I don't think you have a clue how close Sterling VA is to the White House, Pentagon, FEMA Emergency Management site at Mt. Weather and so forth. What is your point exactly and where to you think Trump should go every time there is bad weather somewhere in the US?

 

It is what Trump was briefed on and at the time he was briefed that is what the models showed. Evidently quite a few are not as smart as 'any school kid' since they are unaware of the ring of uncertainty meaning Dorian could be anywhere within that ring including the Gulf.

 

You have to be way beyond school kid mentality to know that the computer modeling often fails.

 

If you're not disputing that, then why are you asking if it is possible?

We know it is possible, as a weaker storm than Dorian did it.

Nobody has the slightest bit of control over weather or climate. These two things change constantly by their own criteria and factors. Always changing.

No hurricane, regardless of category, would survive crossing a land mass as big as the Florida peninsula, nor would there be enough of it left to reform itself once it reached the gulf. This is science, not speculation.

I will never understand the cult of Trump, or how anyone with half a brain could believe anything he says.

I had forgotten about Erin. It was a low grade hurricane, then a tropical storm, then reformed back into a hurricane in the gulf.

My apologies and thanks for looking this up. And before you ask: no, I will not excuse Trump on this, since in order to "prove" his bee ess he cherry-picked one graphic out of a series, where the very next graphic showed Dorian making a right turn and heading north. He's still an idiot.

Meanwhile he's buying a 14 million dollar home, while already living in a 8 million dollar home?

 

Yet, if you knew how to read the picture shown, he was right since they had it anywhere from skirting south of Florida to being in the Gulf by 8AM, where it could rebuild strength in warmer waters.

 

obama made a tradition of ignoring disasters. Trump has done much better at not ignoring them.

 

Don't any of you Trump apologists remember what he said? He claimed that Dorian would strike Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia, as well as Alabama. So where is the graphic showing that path? Was the hurricane going to strike all of those states along the east coast, then jump over to Alabama? Or was it going to Georgia and Alabama first, then across the country to the Carolinas?

FFS, I realize that Trump is geographically challenged on the configuration of the states in his own country, but are his supporters just as ignorant? From too many of the comments on this thread, it sure would seem so.

I know that many have little in the way of education in science and it shows. Some probably think the large circle around the 8AM position was the size of Dorian.
