Sure, they thought that Mueller was beyond approach. We found out different when almost all the 19 investigators appointed were Democrats and then saw at his testimony Mueller was nothing more than a figurehead. He obviously knew little to nothing of what went on. Trump's lawyer said he only talked to Mueller once during that whole investigation.

 

Really? They had a CHOICE?? I don't recall that... We didn't get to vote on it like American Special Prosecutor??

Democrats (and Independents like me) actually believe there are people who can be unbiased and perform their jobs as assigned... Mueller may have been TECHNICALLY a Republican, but you have to believe somebody can do the job regardless of a letter next to their name.

I think his bar on collusion was ridiculous (if not legally true), his failure to officially say there was OOJ naive, he didn't follow the money, and he didn't get an interview with the subject (via subpoena), but even with those shortcomings, it was enough to impeach and indict after office, should somebody want to go that way...

 

That's a good point, but we didn't know he was a figurehead until the very end. We went along with it thinking, even though he's investigating someone from his own party, he seems impeccable and competent. I don't think the GOP is capable of thinking ANY prominent Democrat is impeccable. Am I right about that?

 

No, I think we knew well before his testimony. They complained about Mueller as soon as they saw his appointees. They never dreamed he would hire all, or most all Democrats to do the investigation.

Ken Starr’s investigation on Clinton included a bunch of right wing political hacks including Starr himself and young Brett Kavanaugh who made sure that all of the details about Clinton’s affair with Ms. Lewinsky became public. He was probably laughing his ass off at some beer joint with his buddies and Kelleyanne Conway about the blue dress and the cigar as the MSM was blasting it all over the airwaves. That’s why I thought it was great when he was crying like a little beeotch in his Senate Confirmation hearing years later when his youthful weenie wagging exploits became public. What goes around.....lol...Mueller was more than fair with Trump and the pack of scoundrels he chose to surround himself with in comparison...Ask Susan MacDougal how she was treated?

We need a law passed where any government employee convicted of a crime involving their job will be stripped of their entire retirement package. That would make 'em think twice. I'll bet the whistle blower submitted their retirement papers a week before they blew the alleged whistle.
