The President has the transcript of the phone call repossesSIons to Pelosi calling for an investigation.

I am saying Trump shouldn't have realised it because by Law he did not have to and it set a bad precedent .

Foreign leaders will be cautious from now on when talking to
a U.S. President. The Democrats are the ones causing problems with the Countries Security.

The excellent staff at AP agree with me, sort of. The AP article says, "WASHINGTON (AP) — The combative White House letter vowing to defy the “illegitimate” impeachment inquiry has actually put President Donald Trump on a more certain path to charges. His refusal to honor subpoenas or allow testimony would likely play into a formal accusation against him.

"The letter sent to House leaders by White House Counsel Pat Cipollone Tuesday evening declared the president would not cooperate with the investigation — a clear reason, Democrats say, to write an article of impeachment charging him with obstruction.

"The White House insists that a formal House vote is necessary just to start the impeachment process. But Democrats are moving ahead without one, confident for now that they are backed by the Constitution and Trump’s own acknowledgements of trying to persuade a foreign government to investigate a political foe."

In a word, desperation, Trump is guilty of breaking federal law and the White House lawyers know it. So, they dance around it with political B.S. The White House asking the House to vote on the impeachment of the President is pure lunacy.

Supporters of Trump have a real problem, and there are more disasters on the horizon for Trump. China has lowered its expectations for progress on trade talks, and Trump surrendered to the Turks with disastrous results. Both are serious national security problems created entirely by Trump along with asking a foreign power to intervene in our Presidential election.

Trump is a walking, talking disaster.

It should bother even you that Pelosi is refusing to take house vote on a formal investigation. It was done for Nixon and Clinton and without that, Trump is very limited in his defense. Pelosi is doing it for one or more of the following three reasons.

    1) Pelosi is afraid she does not have the votes.

2 )Pelosi is scared of what the republicans might uncover,.

    3) Pelosi wants to intentionally conduct an impeachment that will get by the democrats in the house, but is doomed for failure by a decision by the SC or voted down in the senate which will allow her to say "See we tried, but the SC or senate would not go along".

Trump’s Bizarro World Reading of the Constitution
    https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/10/09/trumps-impeachment-unconstitutional-229838

While the Trump administration has repeatedly taken unprecedented legal positions to delay and stonewall Congress, it previously recognized, however tacitly, the legitimacy of impeachment as a constitutional remedy. Even when it prevented witnesses like former White House lawyer Don McGahn from testifying, it provided a fig leaf of justification—executive privilege or attorney-client privilege, for example—thereby implicitly acknowledging the oversight prerogatives of Congress and its power to issue subpoenas.

    That changed on Tuesday.

It has all the earmarks of a trial in a third world country. Why are the democrats so afraid of a vote?

    Nonsense.
The House is proceeding under existing rules.

Don't even pretend that Trump would comply with anything after obstructing everything for years now

And that is precisely a third world attitude. We used to joke about such things in the military. "Well, lets give the guilty SOB a fair trial before we hang him."

Don't you love the fact that he was an hour away from landing when Trump decided that he doesn't have to testify?

I don't think you're looking at the big picture. You think there's some huge obstruction thing going on, and the donald is going to be hauled off in leg chains any day now. The only problem with that scenario is that you've been predicting that for quite a few years now.

The big picture is that Trump WANTS this to get in front of a judge. He can't wait for that because it'll only mean one of two things. He'll be told that this really is a formal impeachment process, and that a vote is not required for Pelosi to assume she speaks for the house. Or that she doesn't have that authority and then she looks like an even bigger idiot than before.

That would mean the republicans in the house would have the ability to subpoena people themselves. Something Pelosi doesn't want.

Just ask yourself why she doesn't want to put it to a vote? Could it be that she knows she doesn't have the votes necessary? I think it does.

You just described one small (but important) part of that obstruction

Exactly. The Bigot-in-Chief is using a talking point to stir up support among The Following that is entirely misleading. Not until the impeachment proceeding moves to the Senate does anything approximating a legal process take place.

Diplomats Were Told to Stay Quiet About Ukraine Military Aid Freeze: NYT
    https://www.thedailybeast.com/diplo...y-quiet-about-ukraine-military-aid-freeze-nyt

"The State Department was told by the White House to play down the surprise freeze of $141 million worth of military aid to the Ukraine that had already been approved by Congress, The New York Times reports. The National Security Council reportedly told American diplomats that the freeze was part of a normal review by the White House—even though Ukraine had already been promised the financial support and was unaware of the freeze. “Keep moving, people, nothing to see here,” Brad Freden, the State Department’s acting deputy assistant secretary of Europe and Eurasia, wrote in an email obtained by the Times. “In terms of public messaging, N.S.C. is deliberately treating both the hold and its lifting as administrative matters,” Freden wrote. “My advice is to keep your public messaging low-key as well.”

There is an irony in desperately attempting to avoid charges of obstructing justice by trying desperately to obstruct justice.

"The Impeachment Inquiry of the 116th Congress is now in session.
We hope to ascertain the truth with the cooperation of patriotic witnesses.
    Good Day, Gentlemen."

    No..he didn't

He released a MEMO if that phone call. 5 pages of a 30 minute phone call and even THAT was damning

The actual transcript is still "locked down" in that super secret stand alone server normally used for covert operations and code names for overseas agents

Key diplomat says he will testify in House impeachment inquiry despite Trump administration’s objection
    https://www.cnbc.com/2019/10/11/key-diplomat-says-he-will-testify-in-house-impeachment-inquiry.html

"Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, will appear for a deposition before House committees as part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry in spite of an attempt by President Donald Trump’s State Department to block his testimony."

Giuliani is going to get indicted, I doubt he will turn on Trump .He'd expect Trump to eventually pardon him. .

The two men that were his clients , Lev and Igor, and are now charged and probably singing like canaries. I would think the FBI has a paper trail plus all the people that were witness' of the whole scam to show the men are facing RICO charges.

In addition to the two men that he was working with, Lev and Igor, he also has to worry about Rick Perry and Pompeo and Sondland (maybe even Barr?) because they could turn on him and sing too. . What Giuliani was doing was clearly a part of a criminal conspiracy to defraud Ukraine and that is serious time. The other law he broke under election law pales in comparison.

In 2015 the REPUBLICANS changed the rules such that Committees CAN now use their subpoena power in this way without a full House vote
