Answer: Because it would have been an incredibly stupid idea. We trained and armed them for 20 yrs so they would take over. That's why they had all the gear. Those cowards joined Taliban, and now Taliban has the gear.

Lessons learned: We should have left 18 years ago. We wasted lot of time, lives and money trying to train people who never wanted us there in the first place.

Again, leaving a well trained and well equipped Afghan army there has been the plan for 20 yrs. Not surprisingly you didn't voice your disagreement until now that its Monday and they game was played and lost on Sunday.

Brazilian propeller planes and Cessnas are "high tech" only if you compare them to sticks and stones.

You know what the biggest problem in training Afghans is?
Constant drug use. According to our soldiers, they would tell them the same things regarding safety over and over and over every day.
More than 85% of all trainees were always high.

 

We teach monkeys to fly airplanes. Anyone can jump in a cockpit of a flying plane and steer it around.
Going through start up procedures on a turbine, hot starts, maintenance, ILS procedures, is WAY beyond anything they will figure out on their own.

 

When they come on here screaming its all Trumps fault, its an admission they have come to the conclusion that Dementia Biden has no capability of standing on his own two feet.
The best part is, they don't even know it. lol

 

There isn't anyone I know of who would even think the Taliban could even start a turbine aircraft much less get it off the ground.
Thats isn't the concern. They will be selling them to China and Russia. Now our communication encoding, weapons tech, aircraft defense systems, aviation thermal tech, turbine systems, and some of our newest technologies in design, are all going into the hands of communist nations that will be used against the US at some point. We have compromised our entire military forces and at some point, it will be used against Americans on and off the battlefield.

You think China and Russia are in the market for Brazilian made propeller planes? If they wanted them, they could just order some from Brazil, but China and Russia have far better planes of their own. There is nothing there the Russians can benefit from.

No, that's because there aren't any, and they don't teach avionics, power-plant or air-frame maintenance at the local madrasa.

I'm so sure Taliban pilots are highly skilled at night landings and flying in inclement weather, and can deliver their ordnance with precision accuracy.
