He's lied to the country about getting stimulus and unemployment. He hasn't done anything he said he would. The reason he was voted in. He ran a huge scam on America.

"He didn't do what he promised" is not, and has never been, grounds for impeachment. You need high crimes and misdemeanors. I have a low bar for that, but this doesn't cut it. He very well may have committed impeachable offenses; this isn't one of them. I say this as someone who wishes that all Presidents lived in constant fear of impeachment.

No. You. Don't. HC&M is whatever the majority party says it is. For example, Biden farts too loud. Oh, and he bribed a foreign official with taxpayer dollars. I fully expect the Congress to imeach and convict once the Reds regain the chamber next year.

There is, unlike in the case of Trump, no evidence that he did so. If you want grounds for impeachment, you can do a lot better than that lazy, dishonest nonsense that not even most Republican lawmakers are going to sign off on. Not sure why you would make that up.

Are you saying that Trump actually won? Because only the president can be impeached, not a citizen. So Trump actually won, and Biden is an illegitimate president? Well, I had a hunch that was the case.

There is historical precedence for impeaching former officials. Your "hunch" is based on vacuous conspiracy theories that only dupe the most gullible.

By the way, the President is a citizen. Weird that you thought he isn't.

Yard, they don't care. Some of them were calling for impeachment about a week after his Inauguration. Some of them even had the audacity to say that they were seeking revenge for Trump being impeached. You already know they don't play by the rules and they don't care about hating and blaming and disenfranchise everybody that doesn't look, love or worship the way they do.

So, dude, just stop trying to make it make sense. It won't because it doesn't. That's how they roll.

I'm 100% positive that my comment is in English. Did you need another language? I only speak English and Spanish so if neither of those work for you, you might consider using Google translate to jump this hurdle.

You think that's weird? Seriously man? Millions of people in this country worship a con man and are willing to burn our Constitution to super glue him to the Oval Office for life. The day of Inauguration 2016 to date (and counting) has ALL been beyond weird.

The impeachment clause reads, "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." How can you remove a private citizen from the presidency? It is a completely illogical ground from which to argue. If you are for impeaching Trump, you are implying that he is the actual president, since you would be removing him from the office; you are also thereby logically arguing that Biden is a fraudulent occupant of the aforesaid office.

Excellent, fascinating history, thanks. Classic, you can't fire me, I quit!
It looks like they did not vote on the articles yet they were actually introduced before he quit.

Removal is not the only part of impeachment and conviction. He wouldn't be the first official impeached and convicted after leaving office. There's nothing "logical" about anything you are saying.

. . . Trump's second impeachment was not only introduced before he left office, but voted on in the House before he left office.

    Excellent point!

According to Wikipedia, "The committee unanimously passed resolutions to impeach Belknap and drew up five articles of impeachment to be sent to the Senate; thus Belknap had both resigned and would be impeached at "the same time" on March 2, 1876, by a unanimous vote of the House of Representatives." (1) The phrase "would be" is key. Thanks, again, for that great point; this just shows that the person who made this inane point probably read it from some leftist Tweet, and did not actually look into it.

    Red herring.

We are talking about impeaching someone after they left office, not before.

    With whom are you arguing?

Thus the point has been established: according to your logic, the logic of the Constitution, and federal congressional precedent, impeaching Trump is implying that he is still in office and that Biden, therefore, is a fraudulent occupant.

With Belknap, raises the question of whether someone is legally out of office merely by announcing it or writing a letter.

Trump was impeached BEFORE he left office. Not after. And you only quoted the part of the Constitution that talked about removal from office. Not the other punishment that conviction for impeachment carries.

You have, therefore, not followed the argument at all and are just making **** up to support Trump's brain dump of a conspiracy theory -- one that makes lunar landing deniers and 9/11 truthers look smart by comparison.
