Former President Donald Trump assailed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell following Republicans’ failure to win control of the Senate, accusing McConnell in a series of Truth Social posts of investing in the wrong midterm races and failing to back unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud, in the latest conflict between the Senate GOP leader and the former president. [...] Calling McConnell “the Republicans Broken Down Senate Leader,” Trump also claimed he failed to stop election workers in Clark County, Nevada from attempting to “steal” the Senate election from Republican Adam Laxalt, claiming “they’re finding all sorts of ballots”—there is no evidence of vote-rigging in Nevada, or anywhere else, during this year’s midterms. [...] Trump took a shot at McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, who served as transportation secretary under Trump, reprising a racist nickname he previously used to refer to her: “everyone despises [McConnell] and his otherwise lovely wife, Coco Chow!,” Trump wrote. https://www.forbes.com/sites/sarado...-push-for-gop-leaders-ouster/?sh=1a41ec62601d _______________________________________________ Trump's sabotage of the GOP continues. Not only will Trump fuel the infighting within his party, he will still hog all the attention and it will undermine the efforts of moderate conservatives to set a winning strategy for 2024. It's a blessed time for Democrats.
Trump and McConnell deserve each other. May they they live in hell together for eternity in a three way with Nancy Pelosi. What's with all these insanely old people running our lives anyway?
I’m not sure there will be a lot of infighting. Trump is yesterday’s news. He has lost his influence. The knives are coming out for him. I think he will largely be ignored going forward. De Santis and McConnell are already ignoring him. He will keep trying to make noise for a while, but if he runs for President again he will be at best an also-ran. He’s toast.
I'm just curious... what does Mango think McConnell is supposed to do in Nevada? Drive out to Clark County and pickup a ballot stack and start counting?? His knowledge about US elections is exceeded only by his knowledge of Revolutionary War Airport defense strategies... Also, don't we have enough Senators having to testify about their attempts to meddle in elections outside of their own state?? It's a decent time for Democrats, but it can get better... and Fascism still lurks in many states...
I dunno.... do you consider the most powerful Senator in the party and the most powerful Seditionist in the party not speaking for 20 months as "ignoring" each other?? https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...e-and-trump-havent-spoken-in-more-than-a-year (That article is dated March 22, but I have no reason to believe they've spoken since) Gonna be some full scale microphone avoiding Tuesday evening if Mango actually announces...
GOP Voters Really NEED To Repudiate Trump... After What happened in the Midterm... An Embarrassing (and Humiliating) Defeat... Which was 100% Due to Trump's Paranoid Toxicity... A Midterm Defeat Which was 100% TRUMP'S FAULT... How is it even possible that Anyone Still Supports Trump?
That is certainly the way that many on the Republican side are trying to treat things. How well that will work, will be determined by how many never-die Trumpers remain, out there. It would seem a bizarre flip, after so many had practically worshipped the guy, for the bulk of them to turn their back on him, so quickly. They were willing to attack the Capitol, for Trump! Or do you think that it had only been the ideas, Trump represented, which had been inspiring peoples' dedication; and, so long as there's a new proxy, who knows the right way to wear that MAGA suit, all but a relative few will have no trouble, shifting their allegiances?
Don't wish for that. The cult around Trump is dangerous if it builds loyalty among more than 70% of conservatives. But if Trump remains in the political landscape with 30% of hardcore loyalists behind him, he becomes a parasite on the GOP. He will lose the primary - which will be bloody - and he will never rally to the winner. He will do so much damage to DeSantis' credibility that his chances of winning in 2024 will be nil. As of next Tuesday, Trump will be the greatest ally the Democrats have ever had.
I am looking forward to trump burning down the party on his way out. It is going to be glorious and well deserved
As long as I never have to listen to the man ever again (happily nearly Trump-voice free for almost 4 years now), or directly read anything he writes or thinks, I'm onboard with all of that...
It will all depend on what Fox News does. If they once again rally behind Trump, like they did after 1/6, Trump supporters will stay with him. If Fox decides it is time to dump him, his time in the spotlight is over. That's the unfortunate reality today. It's Fox News that dictates GOP policy.
Have you seen my thread, about Rupert Murdoch apparently having made the choice to jettison Trump, in favor of Trump-Lite, DeSantis? http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/fox-news-at-war-with-trump.605520/ On the weekend before midterms, Fox ignored a Trump rally, in order to do a 20 minute interview with DeSantis, who Murdoch's NY Post, dubbed, De-Future. The same paper depicted mockingly, "Trumpty Dumpty." The caveat is that a couple of the most popular hosts on Fox, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, are clearly not bound by Murdoch's proclamations, so are still squarely on team Trump.
Trump is just trying to upset people to get attention (good or bad doesn't matter), Trump can't stand other people getting attention
I sure as heck don't know what Trump is going to do, but his political backside is now exposed and all those yahoos that supported him, even during his most egregious transgressions will most certainly be reminded by me, as I said I would.
Hu, a racist Democrat named Trump. Makes sense. The Klu Klux Klan was started by democrats. Trump spreads hate just like the rest of his fellow democrats politicians do.
Let’s hope that his malignant narcissism pushes him to throw his combover into the ring. I want the repubs to face the consequences of having let a criminal like trump take over their party just so they could ‘own the libs’.
Of course he will then start years in legal wrangling, unprotected by his political position. If I were someone who had ever been supported by Trump, I would snap shut my wallet and my mouth and head out of town. Trump is going to call in every penny he paid out.
The Democratic Party would never accept Trump even if he begged to turn traitor and hide with the opposition. He is poison whetever he tries to go. You do know, don't you, which party Trump belongs to and thinks he owns...
McConnel, Lindsey Graham and McCarthy are all in the bed with the Democrats. They would rather have Democrats in power, than lose their own power to populist Republicans. They should all be replaced. Not fit for purpose. Look at which campaigns these shitheels invested money in. Look at idiot Graham proposing a nation wide abortion ban right before an election. That is all you need to know. I would put all three of these guys into the same category as Hillary Clinton and GW Bush. Strictly garbage tier.
You have no ability to even justify the “criminal” claim lol. Astounding how easily some on the left has been social engineered to hate someone.
Lol…no, they’re all repub cowards who have had their heads stuck inside trump’s ass for years. But I do agree that they’re not fit for purpose. They had the chance to rid themselves of the orange albatross after his attempted coup, but chickened out and now trump has destroyed their midterm prospects. I’m loving it.
