That's an interesting task, putting it in writing, but this is my (accurate) impression of MAGA in a memorable little rhyme "Start nothing useful, Stop anything useful" - McCarthy's (in)actions around 1/6 primarily fall into the first bucket....
They won't. Trump WILL be the Republican candidate in 2024, and he is ALREADY saying the election is rigged I just hope that not that many people are hurt in the Civil War he and his followers are certain to start
Well, if there is any good that comes from Trump it is that he may be contributing to destroying the 2 party system. He was so bad that someone as incompetent as Biden was elected as President, destroying confidence in the Democrat party. At the same time he is chopping the Republican Party into pieces, as his ego is causing civil war and conflicts of allegiance in their ranks. Maybe a sane independent or third party candidate can get a chance for once and bring some much needed compromise and balance to DC. of course, this may all be wishful thinking on my part, and we will keep the losers in the two parties in power forever.
Trump and his chosen candidate are responsible for the Republicans very poor showing. There should have been a red wave, but Trump halted that red wave in its tracks. If one compares the votes in various states where you could compare Trump chosen MAGA candidates to non-MAGA Republican candidates, they ran an average of 8 points lower than the non-MAGA candidates. My state of Georgia is a prime example, Kemp received 54% of the vote, a Trump enemy, non-MAGA. Walker, Trump chosen, MAGA candidate 48%. Where there are comparisons, MAGA candidates fared poorly. This election was a wakeup call to some republicans. But I doubt there’s enough republicans to oust the MAGA, Trump portion. This election loss can be placed squarely on Trump’s shoulders. Look at the GOP who lost vs. the ones who won. One doesn’t need to be a political rocket scientist to compare numbers and concluded that MAGA in a lot of states is a general election loser. A couple of more examples besides Georgia. New Hampshire Sununu 57%, Bolduc 44% Ohio DeWine 67%, Vance 53% Yes, Vance won, but he polled 14 points behind non-MAGA DeWine. There were a lot of Ticket splitters, almost all were independents. Which the GOP should take notice. The Republican Party is still the smaller of the two major parties, if they don’t win the independent vote, they lose the election. MAGA, Trump isn’t popular among independents. The choice the Republican Party has is to continue to make a statement with Trump and MAGA or become interested in winning elections, general elections. Right now, I’d say the GOP is only interested in making a statement by supporting Trump, MAGA.
You hate Trump...I don't worship Trump. It's just that my political philosophy and Trump's philosophy coincides greatly. When I laud Trump, I'm actually lauding myself.
Little doubt of that. Do you maintain him to be anything other than a complete reprobate as a person? I contributed to Biden, even when he was losing. I agree with him wholeheartedly in nearly everything. He's a good and decent person
My take is backed up by MAGA (in)actions and ongoing rhetoric....see threats to shut down the government every time there is an opportunity to shut down the government
I don't know ehy you seem to think that hating Trump is sone sort of hurled invective. I certainly do hate him from the tip of his made-up nose to the toe of his jack boot. I detest his whiney voice , his arrogant glare down his nose, his lying, his friends, so many now in jail, his narcissism, his bullying, his utter lack of any ideology except to call attention to himself His complete lack of understanding when the ROW is laughing at him . Which they do quite a lot. In fact I would go so far as to call him the devil's messenger. He doesn't have a philosophy. He just wants an Empire and to be worshipped.
McConnell does not want Trump to be the leader of the Party anymore. Jim Jordan does and a few others in the senate, but definitely not McConnell.
Nobody wants a 90 something year old Trump to be the leader of the Republican party any more. Or the 100 year old Mitch the Turtle to be the Senate minority leader again. Can we get a few non-geriatric politicians in here please?
In fact one of the most discussed elements of this whole fiasco is the amazement that the United States of America can even contemplate the idea that a twice impeached liar, braggart and narcissistic psychological mess could possibly be their President. That a man who has to read every word of a speech instead of speak from the heart , and in flat, monotonous, laboured lies, can turn so many into mindless zombies. It is quite astonishing.
