Could be a false flag. Could be an accident. Could have been intentional by Russia to test our resolve.

    Scary times.

Who the **** would negotiate with putin at this point?
He started it with an illegal land grab in 14. He continued it with sending paid mercenary provocateurs, stoking a conflict for years.
Now he's lit that up full force, gotten his **** pushed in, and refuses to admit it.
Why the **** would you think that WE would need to go begging hat in hand to HIM?

He ****ed up, he can damn well swallow his pride and ask for peace. Or he can damn well get ****ed in the ass with broken glass. Its up to him.

Want to know what happens if you oopsie and kill people because you're so ****ing incompetent you use missiles that don't work right?
You killed people by shelling a foreign nation and gave them casus belli.

So we shouldn’t negotiate a release for Griner? If Russia is a terrorist state, then why are Americans playing basketball over there?

The war has global implications and needs to end now.

Hopefully that means this was an accident and not an escalation. Russia has its hands full with a piss ant country, why would they take on NATO at the same time?

I wish I could agree with you but this is a bipartisan war on Russia with the exception of only a few Republicans in Congress. Both parties own this stink.

So, are you really on the "let's nuke Russia train" already? Is this what it means to be a pure democrat these days? War in our lifetimes, because, there isn't enough conflict already? And let me ask an even more revealing question. If the goal is stopping climate change, how does having this kind and scale of war going to help that cause? Or, as so many of us have noted in the past, the climate change issue is a hoax/red herring designed to funnel more wealth to the elite with a pretty package?

I would correct your ridiculous presentation of history, but who cares, I just assume this is a reflection of how crappy public education is these days...

I don't disagree with you on this. However, I just have to point out to democrats that they own this. So far, not many takers...Even though to a poster, they all agree this is the coolest news of the day, and just are too bashful to let all that hoopla out in public...

Hopefully cooler heads prevail during all this nonsense. A few missiles off target is no reason to escalate the conflict.

I don’t know where you have gotten the idea I don’t have children but it’s likely the same place you derive all your opinions derived as fact.

If other nations didn’t depend on the US so heavily and we didn’t have an extremely powerful military I assure you we would have been sanctioned to death by the international community.

As to your idea that I have no right to have an opinion, feel free to <removed>.

A lot of Biden supporters feel defensive, and the real desperate ones believe that only Putin Bros think Biden is weak.

Just think, no matter how big a world war is, Biden would be the most protected person on the planet. Listening to his BS you'd think he was leading from the front.

It easy to be the tough guy when no one can get at you.

John Kirby is on TV with far too much makeup on.. It's distracting.. like it was supposed to be a drag night and he had to suddenly put his work togs back on to get in front of a camera to make a statement....

We don't have to beg Putin for anything, he's not at war with us. Negotiating an end to hostilities is done in every war unless there are no survivors on the losing side. We should either get negotiations going to end this war, or incentivize someone to end Puntin.

This is not our conflict but it does impact us. If anything, Europe and the UN should be at the front line trying to resolve this. By providing billions and billions of dollars to a guy who makes his hero videos in front of a green screen while he keeps asking us for money, Biden is only prolonging the death and destruction.

Remember, as per Biden himself, Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries on the planet, and he's feeding them billions and billions of our dollars and military hardware.

Do you know what's odd, and maybe you'll agree with me on this. It's odd that actors, celebs, politicians and reporters can set up face-to-face meetings with Zelensky but none of Putin's hit men can find or get near him. I find that very strange.

The only negotiation is return to status quo pre 14, pay restitution, and otherwise get ****ed.
I very much doubt Putin will go for that, ergo any negotiation is just an excuse for the weak willed to knuckle under.
    Put simply: No.

He who calls to negotiate first is begging.

You do not give ONE INCH to Purin.
One inch means you are weak. One inch becomes two. This is the appeasement that generated WW2.
It doesn't matter if this was some mistake. Modern warfare doesn't make mistakes like this.
This is a TEST of western resolve.
I suggest we send armed drones over Moscow and apologise for poor navigation.
This, mistake or not, the only chance to test NATO.
It must stand by its purpose.
Otherwise the West is lost. No one will take NATO seriously anymore.
This postule must be lanced. Putin is a plague. Our way of life depends on whether he is catered for or destroyed. We cannot allow a single fissure in our armor, and take every opportunity to justify his defeat.
I pray his "mistake" is his death knell.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE INTERNAL SNOWBALL FIGHT INSIDE THE USA.
Putin laughs at your stupid petty internal squabbles and delights in playing one side off against the other.
Get your head out of your box and consider the attack against your ALLIES.
You use NATO allies to big up your military spending and then play games with the lives of those whom you are sworn to protect??
    I am seriously speechless.
You are supposed to be the leader of the western liberal democracies.
And you crumble at the slightest threat ??
You are fine with making war over other poor people's homes. But when it comes to NATO and your allies, you want to capitulate.
    Yeah thanks.
    We paid up
. Now stand up for what we paid up for.
Not in three years like you did in ww2. NOW.
Or Putin will be sending armed drones over your country too.
    .

Putin Bros think Putin is strong it doesn’t have anything specifically to do with how they feel about Biden.

Putin is not strong, he’s weak. He’s allowed his country to be raped by the oligarchs.

Oh, I'm keenly aware in fact far moreso than yourself. We fought in WW1 and WW2 both, and our member status in NATO practically assures our entry into the Third European War. The thing is, you can even call it a 'Trumpian' thing is: No, nein, never. Period. Even if all of Europe is buried asunder, even if it's reduced to nothing but a pile of rubble I will not so much as lift a single finger. Why? Because that my friend is Europe's problem. Not our own.

We don't effectively have a policy of containment with regards to Russia or the other Eastern Powers. Nor do we have a base outside of NATO to be able to actually be a factor in the theater. To save you the geopolitical discussion, we have no reason whatsoever to lift a limb. We've already done so twice.

So that 'last almost century' is a massive pooling of American blood and for what? They're back at war again! What assurances do we have that there won't be a fourth or a fifth European war? There is nothing that gives us that guarantee, but we are most certainly guaranteed to fight on their behalf.

So yes, it is meaningless to me. As meaningless as Vietnam was in the 70's. Who we are, is not Europe's protector or 'the world's protector. We must, above all else protect ourselves and if that means someone else has to be the sucker well that sucks.

The stupid petty internal squabbles in the USA have opened the door to reality. And it is the toppling of the West not by 18th century blunderbusses but by 21st century missiles provided by the many countries who hate the West.
Putin is counting on your myopia instead of his longer vision. So BTW is China but that is another thread. And so is Iraq which we bombed into the last century. And who is supplying Russia with arms.
It may well be payback time.
