Is there something wrong with the web site? I haven't been able to view any threads all day. This is the first thing I have been able to do if I can send this.
I think the essential point is the concept of 'earned' wealth. The socialist sees Labour as the source of all wealth and thus labour should be rewarded appropiately whereas the captialist may see the capitalist as a necessary factor of wealth and as such is entitled to a percentage of the wealth generated by the Labourers. Not too sound too Marxist but a proportion of surplus-value.
HEY! Some done stole your avatar!!! What the bloody 'ell been going on around here while I been out nursing my bad tooth?! :rage:
If I could change the tag below your name, I would. Shine this whole "Guru" thing and put something in there like, "Eats demagogues for breakfast..." or something. I don't know, I think you're pretty awesome. Always have.
Hey, Anik. I have a quick question for you. You seem to be in favour of some sort of public (or publicly funded) education system due to the positive externalities involved. Well this has prompted me to ask: Are you, in a similar vein, in favour of a public (or publicly funded) healthcare system (just basics)? Particularly in areas such as preventative care.
http://www.politicalforum.com/off-topic-chat/87321-disney-souvenirs-banned-flight.html#post1562525 come :giggle:, please?
My, my Anikdote, this seems out of character: http://www.politicalforum.com/1558822-post950.html. The Randists (here on in -the Randys) will be very upset. :)
Didya happen to see TPTB "unbanned" Inferno's account so's folks could leave messages for her ? Also we've got a "Rep Inferno" campaign going so we can get her reputation level as high as possible. *sigh* She was taken off life support today---we've not heard much since about noon today about her outcome.
I suppose the label still fits. But just as I reject oppressive government I also reject, an oppressive corprotacracy. I'm open minded and will support any policy that maximizes personal liberty. Lately here, I've been called everything from a socialist to a republican. ;)
So...?? Are you still a libertarian or? (I consider that to be a right-wing school of thought but I will concede that it is quite seperate to the conservatives one normally envisages although I tend to imagine our conservatives not America's. ie. Fine Gael (blueshirts:)) although I consider the progressive democrats even further right (in economic terms) and they approach libertarianism I believe.
libertarians embrace personal liberty, I refuse to accept the american bastardization of liberalism, the fact that I'm not a moral authoritarian ensures that I don't line up with conservatives.
Not right wing!!!!!!!!! What happened to the libertarian I once knew?...Stay gold ponyboy...stay gold... (I apologise for any insanities there but such is the magnitude of my shock)
I knew he had issues at another site, I was just basing my opinion on the last post he made, saying he was on holiday, I could be quite wrong -- his technical knowledge was head and shoulders above most people here, including myself.
I doubt it; he deleted everyone from his friends' list. He's had a problem with angry reactions to his superior technical knowledge on several forums, actually; this is the fourth that I've seen it happen on.
