Medical bankruptcies are a staple of Obamacare. https://spendmenot.com/blog/medical... for, medical bankruptcy are military families. Greater numbers of uninsured Americans are one of the accomplishments of Obamacare. When Obamacare was instituted, the accepted figure used was 16 to 24 million uninsured. Today it is 27.5 million. Of course the 27.5 million number is a bit like putting lipstick on a pig. It fails to take into consideration the number of Americans who have some sort of health insurance and cannot use it because the deductibles are way too high. If fails to take into consideration the number of Americans who do not go to the doctor for preventative medicine because the co-pays are way out too high. https://www.census.gov/library/publ...8, 8.5 percent of,7.9 percent or 25.6 million). Obamacare was supposed to reduce the cost of health insurance, and yet health insurance premiums have skyrocketed: https://www.ncsl.org/research/health/health-insurance-premiums.aspx As it stands now, people are buying what used to be catastrophic health insurance for what used to be Cadilac Insurance prices. And if you are a Democrat, why would you support Obamacare? It was a bloodbath. It cost Democrats more than a thousand legislative seats. https://www.politifact.com/factchec...y-track-claim-1000-seat-pickup-gop-obamacare/ Furthermore, the empyrical evidence is in concerning Obamacare. The average life expectency of Americans has steadily gone up since the country was founded in 1787 until the implementation of Obamacare and then the life expectency began to decline. This seems obvious in light of the fact that Obamacare is preventing people from getting preventive treatent due to excorbitant prices. https://ourworldindata.org/us-life-expectancy-low To label Obamacare as anything other than a monumental failure would leave one with no credibility. The result of Obamare is more uninsured individuals, higher costs, lower life expectency, poorer outcomes for medical maladies, and a greater chance of a medical bankruptcy. Since Obamacare was such a failure, I cannot imagine why any Democrat would want to attempt to keep Obamacare in hte minds of the public. Am I missing something here?
That is what you need. There isn't enough MD,PA and NP to practice. Has nothing to do with bill and code, or admin tasks, they have specialists who deal with that. It's a simple supply and demand equation.
Sadly, I agree. Can we join the rest of the world and stop subsidizing junk food and sweetened beverages?
So, when you mash all the bullshit out of the gigantic wrangle over the completely UNCONSTITUTIONAL morass that is 'Obamacare', the Supreme Court is already giving a 'signal' that they won't get rid of it. This is absolutely unbelievable! You could see how a piece of totally unconstitutional, neo-socialistic crap like Obamacare would be strongly protected by radical-Democrat Justices like Sotomayor and Kagan, aided by that mealy-mouthed, treacherous "Chief" Justice, Roberts -- but for CONSERVATIVE Justices to slink away from purging our country of this illegal travesty is unspeakably awful! Why the hell did we on the Right toil so hard to get three (THREE) 'originalist', Conservative Justices onto the highest court in the land if THIS kind of treacherous sh!t is going to be the result?! If Obamacare is allowed to remain in place by the Supreme Court, then every legislative travesty imaginable is now legal. Maybe it always was, and I was just too stupid, hopeful, and trusting to realize it.... . "Dude, that's nuthin' -- my courts made it perfectly legal to throw Jews out of the country!"
They upheld the law the first time under the taxing authority of congress. Even without the mandate, the subsidy itself is a tax credit so the authority to enact it under Congressional taxing authority really is unaffected by the mandate for coverage. All of that said, you shouldn't necessarily assume too much based on the Justices questions and comments at these things.
Managing one's individual health care is not an enumerated power of the federal government, but instead, a power reserved for the individual citizenry, and for the states in which they reside. It is not for Roberts or Kavanaugh to decide what kind of healthcare we have, or don't have, but for we the people to decide, and for the legislators we elect at each state and county level. That being said, it seems inevitable that at least 5 justices, and maybe more, will once again act as legislators instead of Supreme Court justices. And that's a sad commentary on the state of our judicial system.
I have an uncle who was a teacher. Once he got cancer, he had to quit his job so that he was eligible for medicare health care at 65. He can't work otherwise he loses his government health insurance for 4 years now. I reckon there will never be a plan that benefits all people because if we go left, then everyone pays more for those who can't afford it. It sucked going from a $500 deductible to paying $100 more a month for a $5000 deductible just so that those making minimum wage got the same benefit. Regardless, going to the hospital with a serious injury owing $5k will still cripple most people financially. In the end, whichever side wins, we will end up losing as there is no clear cut plan that saves the average person money. Healthy industry has the government by their throats. Government will make sure we all pay out our arses in either scenario. Its all about the benjamins.
Obamacare will survive? Ok, that's good news! Especially for me, who has pre-existing conditions. That's a start. But what to do about all the people who don't have insurance??? Until everyone can seek affordable healthcare, then healthcare is still in crisis in the USA.
The mandate ended in 2017 ACA is funded in a number of ways, mostly with taxes. If you don't want to sign up, you don't have to. But, it doesn't work like purchasing insurance only when you need it, which drives up the premiums.
If McConnell retains control, it might be tough to fix it, we shall see who wins the senate seats in GA in Jan.
Are you kidding me. It was a horror show. I recall health care before ACA. If you had an employer run plan, you were okay, but I was an independent contractor, and there were no cheap plans for me, I couldn't afford $600 per month, and, even then, insurers were notorious for dropping you once you had a catastrophic even years later. I had a visits to the 'emergency room' and I was billed $400 for a simple suture on a cut. A year later, I had something more serious, and it was $4000, and I couldn't afford to pay it, so it wrecked my credit, I wasn't doing so good in those days, just getting my business off the ground. When the ACA came, it was a godsend, I had a regular doctor at a regular clinic, no long lines, and $132 per month with $10 copays. I had some expensive surgery, and my copay was $900 which they allowed me to pay in 3 monthly installments.
‘Obamacare’ likely to survive, high court arguments indicate Always remember the golden law of jurisprudence that the probability of predicting how a court will rule on anything is always 50-50.
The Supreme Court SHOULD throw the 'Obamacare' farce out in the trash and tell Congress to come up with something else entirely -- maybe even a 'single-payer' system that MAKES LEGAL AND FISCAL SENSE! It wouldn't even be that hard to do! Hell, if enough of these corrupt jerks we send to the House and the Senate to "represent us" would just pore through the pages of this Forum for the past ten years, they could get plenty of good ideas for a working 'single-payer' system that would be FAR superior to the unconstitutional, half-assed, neo-socialism-lite pile of handout 'subsidy' crap that Obamacare is.... Who could have believed that BRETT KAVANAUGH would dive into the same liberal 'mosh-pit' with creatures like Sotomayor and Kagan? . "Surprise...!"
The crisis is the level of illness. No one is even discussing the real problem. Most of the Standard American Diet (SAD) is subsidized and until we stop forcing tax payers to create illness, this will only continue to get worse.
Are you kidding? I think the SAD diet has been a standard for decades. They used to add all sorts of additives, like rust and pink slime, to fast food. But it didn't really become a problem until about the 1990s or so when people were dying of heart attacks from eating supposedly 'healthy' foods, like margarine. It has only been within the past few years when the American diet recommendations got flipped on its head. Now we know that fat doesn't cause fat, hydrogenated oil is bad and clogs arteries, and such.
My point is that most of is is subsidized. Our tax dollar is being used to make and keep people sick. Once symptoms show, pharm products are prescribed to mask symptoms so that they may comfortably continue their bad eating habits. I just renewed my plan for my family of 3 and it came to over $27K for the year.
Is that like Milk subsidies? Corn subsidies? Ect...? Because I like products made from those ingredients and would prefer to keep them. Anyway, my point is that it isn't really the food that's bad, but more likely a lack of exercise. Sorry to hear that you paid an average of $9K per person in your household. Hmm, how old is your kid? If he/she is old enough to file taxes start a private conversation with me and I'll tell you something.
Because your masters said to, conservative was the only requirement the right sees — then when they land on the court they realize there are more important things than the partisan hackary that their base wants. You always have thomas and most likely barrett though. (I don’t see thomas making it through a Biden term and then two Harris terms though)
Oh, now you're supposedly against "partisan hackary"...? Have you ever read the backgrounds of "Justice" Sonia Sotomayor, or, "Justice" Elena Kagan?! Both of them were put on the Supreme Court by the worst president in the last seventy years (at least) -- "Messiah" Obama... and both of them represent the very worst kinds of radical, Left-wing Democrat "partisan hackary".... So don't seem so offended at the idea of smelling sh!t in the air at the Supreme Court when it already stunk to high-heaven because of Sotomayor, Kagan, and that RINO, turncoat bastard, Chief "Justice" Roberts!
