If there has to be a two party system, I reckon the best arrangement for the U.S. would be a rejection of paternalistic / statist attitudes on both sides. A clasically liberal party on the Right and socialist party on the Left could duke it out over which rights and liberties a limited, constitutional government should secure for us while we agree on the "social" issues that being permissive is the most individualist, pro-liberty path and decentralizes authority from the federal government - transferring more of it than there is today to the many states or individual citizens. Neither camp would be authoritarian.

I imagine people could find some common ground on civil libertarianism, green politics, and opposition to imperialism.

Chris Christie will suffer a massive heart attack while trying to eat three Big Macs at once.

Sarah Palin will shoot her husband after mistaking him for a gay moose.

Rick Perry will hold a massive prayer rally to try to stop a gigantic global-warming-induced superstorm from damaging his vacation home in El Paso.

Rand Paul will be revealed by Mother Jones to be the leader of the Illuminati.

And Sylvia Browne will finally make a correct psychic prediction when she announces that Michelle Bachmann is actually an alien from the planet Tralfamadore. (well, duh)

Probably, but the fact is that there is no penalty for sedition.

Americans are subject to all of the vicissitudes of human nature and limitations of human behavior. Americans are not exempt from the forces and processes of history.

As America evolves into Amerika the norms of political behavior will change. How do I know that? Americans are human beings.

You don't have to rationalize your view, bro. I'd think that if it didn't happen with the election of the 1st black President, it's a safe bet the next President has nothing to fear.

Kickers and screamers would call it that, but only because they're kickers and screamers. The rest of America will continue to vote as they see fit.

Of course they will, and they will be much diminished in the process. Your New Amerika has chosen a path that will give it neither peace nor prosperity.

Here's a new anthem for the remnants of Old America:

Hillary will give any Republican their run for the money. She is already highly popular in the polls.

I am a conservative and the GOP has to come up with a sleazy campaign this time. Why not? Obama did.

My opponent is Rand Paul and I will advocate for him in real time. He is as strong if not stronger speaker than Hillary. They can both speak a long time without a telepromter.

People have said if she wins she will dump Bill. What a bunch of bean dip. She has stood by him through thick and thin. Their personal life is not my concern. I want someone who has a solid plan to help grow this economy.

Gary Johnson 4 Prez of USA 2016. Please, America. Be sensible for once and halt this two-party stupidity at once.

You said voting for a "first" that was a Democrat was a negative.....naturally if it's a Republican, you have a different take, don't you?

Hillary Clinton will be our next President. I've seen nothing to suggest that the right will nominate anyone electable. The only electable options aren't extreme enough for right these days. There is time for them to catch up with the times, but the overwhelming majority of them have no interest in doing so. So they will lose again.

Democrats do a better job if you go by the numbers, and what really happened, however there is some fan fiction where the GOP does a great job of running the country.

So Republicans are going to stop running folks like Palin, Bachmann, O'Donnell, Santorum, the pizza guy (name escapes me) and run only serious non-novelty candidates? It'd be real interesting if you would.

Well, Unifier is right. People are more apt to vote Democrat if you have the premise of "potential first black, female, gay, or muslim president". Many voters voted for Obama simply because he's black, so the Democrats know how to secure their votes for the future, which is why Hillary will likely win if she runs. People will be too afraid of being called a sexist by the mainstream media, so they'll vote for her out of sympathy.

Like always. Look around you. Virtually everything wrong with the country today is a result of liberal politics, liberal ideas, and liberal policies. The further the country moves to the left, the more everyone suffers.

You're just going to have to toughen up and get accustomed to rough talk from people who don't wish your ideology well.

It's never too early to speculate. Already there's numerous predictions out there on the web that are hyping up Rand vs Hillary.
