We don't have the normal tools to employ during a recession that we should. Trump and republicans have already slashed taxes/revenue with their donor relief package in 2018. The FED has interest rates so low that we can't lower them any further to help mitigate this recession. This will not be a swift recovery. The effects are going to be felt for at least 18-24 months.
