This is about MEDIA coverage. The grotesque double standard.

OH, so "Christian" lives have more value than "Muslim" ones? Why exactly?

They apparently have less, given there was worldwide (at least amongst ultra safe First Worlders) outcry over the deaths of 50 in NZ, while in the same week around 70 Christians were killed while worshipping and it was a faint blip.

Were those 70 in a single incident? If not, how could you excpect one coverage not to dwarf another just over scale? Add to that the killers obvious attempt to publicize it himself?

I'm not at ALL suggesting not covering such things is good, but simple logic would tell anyone with any sense that an event like in NZ is unique and is gonna dwarf other things because media is about what sells, and that's just how it is, right or wrong.

Satan is a God - at least according to the Bible - a Son of God.

Can't even recall what you did say can you? If you could you might be able to surmise why I might wonder. I guess that's beyond you then?

Naw, closet latent homosexuality is for you right wing evangalist types.

I prefer that nobody gets killed for their religion. I think it's awful no matter what. Probably gets and deserves some coverage, but remember, media, particularly in 'murica goes with what sells.

I know your fear hate and rage overwhelms you, so why don't go go become a merc somewhere? Might even be able to legally kill Muslims, bet you'd get quite the kick out of that huh? Isn't that what you hear when you ask yourself WWJD?

    Story time !

Job 1: One day the Sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

I will paraphrase from here: God says to his son - look at my servant Job how great and wonderful he is. Satan replies - well yeah Dad - you gave him everything

10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”

The Father-Son relationship is obvious - who else talks to God like this ?

God accepts the bet - but tells Satan not to harm Job. Satan reigns fire down from heaven - kills Jobs workers - family and destroys his flock and Job is left destitute.

The rest of the story matters not. The interesting thing is that 1) Satan is a God - a son of God. 2) Satan does not act outside of that which God commands.

Now even if we didn't have this story - if God created everything (as believers believe) - did he not also create Satan - and is thus - by definition - Satan is an emanation of God ?

One would think - at some point - logic and reason might kick in and "believers" might figure this out on their own.

In the meantime -its is fun to demonstrate how little understanding folks have of the book they claim to believe in.

The thing is, there are SO many valid lessons in the book, some actual history, and a lot of bullshit. So much political crap, so many translation issues over the years, and yet. "Infallible word of God"?

IDK, I've seen people get value from any religion, but VERY little among fundamentalits of ANY stripe. Even the hardcore athiests are obnoxious as hell. Extremists, oi vey lol

Yup - you have "the book" and then you have human interpretation - and the two seldom meet in a way that is not wild contradiction or mindless nonsense.

Proverbs and Ecclesiastes have some good life lessons ... such as - better to sleep on the roof than in the same house with a nagging wife :)

This is about Bud Dwyer in PA of course, but am I wrong to fantasize someday it could apply to many of the Trump family in the "aftermath'?

I know it's mean, but is it "wrong"?:chainsaw:

    Are you Christian?

If so, are you aware "Allah" is actually the same dude as "the father" just a different take on things?

Probably not. Probably also unaware they revere Jesus as a major prophet in their religion FWIW. IDC because I don't buy in really, but goes for "da joose" too ya know (cept bout Jebus obviously)! I know, yer all ascairt they will "replace" you and all. I'm sorry (actually I'm not but I'm attempting politeness, badly).

Propaganda is BS - by definition = always BS .. Islam is what it is - brainwashing of the masses - same with Christianity.

Not sure which is worse - those who drink religious propaganda or those who drink down state propaganda - depends on the day I suppose.

The worse thing though is when the two are mixed.

Yup - Fear an Guilt is what drives Christian and Islamic belief. Thing is though - when some idiot takes a bat to a hornets nest does anyone have much sympathy for the dude getting stung ?
