The ACA was created in committees that included a full complement of Republicans.

All were free to talk to the press about progress, goals, the difficult problems, alternative solutions, etc.

When it reached the point where modification required the amendment process, Republican senators proposed more than 160 amendments to the ACA which were accepted by vote of the Senate.

This idea that the ACA was created in a closed process is just a blatant political lie.

What are you on about with these straw men arguments? Where did I say ANYTHING that you are refuting?

But, you are missing the point of your own straw man anyway. The point is, the GOP did NOT vote for the bill. Just because a handful of amendments they wanted were add in, doesn't mean that they ever got enough changes to vote for it.

The fundamental idiotic flaw in Obamacare, is making everyone of every age pay the same price. Insurance, by it's very definition is shared risk via careful assessment of that risk. Democrats thought the health insurers would spread the risk across everyone, resulting in a only slightly higher premium. In reality, they just made everyone pay a premium based on the highest risk people.

Big deal. Obama care broke the Democrat Party.

7 months after it was enacted, in November of 2010, electoral power wildly shifted from Democrat to Republican. In the nation’s 98 partisan legislative chambers, Republicans almost completely reversed their standing. Heading into the election, Democrats held a 60 to 36 advantage with two chambers split. After election day, the GOP controlled 57 chambers, Democrats 39, and again, two were tied.

And yet Democrats continue to operate as if their support for Obamacare is a net plus electorally.

America never supported it, it was rammed into American policy via budget reconciliation, and a very-likely infringed on the Origination Clause of the Constitution.

And this electoral tidal wave hit Democats BEFORE our premiums rose to astronomical levels. Before we lost your employer-sponsored health insurance. Before we could no longer “keep your doctor,” in spite of the then-president’s promises.

So why was the Electorate so opposed to Obamacare?

    Was it the intrusion?

Our national conversation has changed since Obamacare was implemented in 2010.

Today, thanks to that day, we have a Republican Congress, a Republican president, and a Supreme Court trending Originalist (thank you, President Trump).

AH... it's those hacks. It all adds up. Partisan wonks trying to push their agenda and Gruber knows the Liberal sheep will follow right along.

If those rich people stopped their products immediately, you'd have nothing. Some rich guy signs your paycheck, same as your wife's. Some rich guy was the architect behind the design of that house you're happy with, and he probably drew out the property line you're happy with, and some rich guy had all those trappings you enjoy, built. Without rich people, this country would be like Africa and we'd all be hunting our food and living in straw huts.

I'd like to make about $20K more a year because I'm at about the middle of the middle class, but I'm thankful for those rich people because without them, we'd have nothing. I'm as happy as you're claiming to be, so if you're that happy, why do you hate rich people so much? Let them do them and you do you if you're happy. Who cares?

I care because rich people's wealth is enabled by our society. Besides, having an opinion that is strictly based on my own stations is ****ing asinine. Just because the halls in which I reside are gilded, does not mean the world cannot be made a better place for all people living in this nation.

Just because I am happy with my life does not mean I can't have an opinion on how things can or should be.

Your failure to see that is why you are stuck in apathy.

Call it an even swap then. 22 million more will gain their insurance back because they can afford it again. Who do you consider more important to society, the makers or the takers? And be honest.

I heard it's because a black guy came up with it. That's what the alt left like to tell us. But you know that's their excuse for everything.

More calls for terrorism and violence against Republicans, declaring Republicans are going to "kill millions of people."

By the OPer's absurd and dangerous hyperventilating hysteria, President Obama and the Democrats in Congress "killed in domestic terrorism equally 10,000 9/11s" at least 28,500,000 Americans because they did not have insurance.

Where does the OPer claim these mass graves of tens of millions killed by Obama and the Democrats are hidden? Clearly, Obama and every Democrat in Congress should be put on trial for crimes against humanity many times worse the the Nazi holocaust!

Yes, in addition to the 28,000,000 Obama and the Democrats in Congress already killed by denying them free insurance.

Apathy isn't the problem... Everyone was afforded the same exact opportunities I was. Some excelled, some matched, and some failed. Never in a million years will you ever make this a better place for everyone. We're given the same chances. Participation trophies are the only way to make the world a better place for those who didn't try hard enough, and that hurts you in the long run because it doesn't teach you self responsibility or independence.

If you want it, stop sitting around and waiting for it to come to you. Get out there and go get it.

I know quite a few people with ObamaCare - and the HATE HATE HATE it! Most won't (or can't) use it. They have to drive an hour and a half to wait hours to see some quack doctor who sets up endlessly more appointments demanding endlessly more tests - but actually doing nothing but maybe telling them to buy a prescription - all so that quack can milk the system for absolutely not benefit and only inconvenience. However, they are also told that if they do not constantly drive that 3 hours to the worthless appointments, then they will be cancelled from ObamaCare.

Need medical care? Have no insurance? Go to the county ER. They will treat you. They will send you a massively inflated bill knowing you won't pay a dime of it, and you got your medical care for free. That is how it has worked for decades - and still does.

EVERYONE in the USA has "free medical care." Just go to ER at the county hospital.
