You've hit the nail on the head. This is just more of the same; acting out because their candidate did not win. NOTHING has actually happened since the election that has changed their lives in any REAL way one iota...no laws, no new taxes and fees rammed down THEIR throats, but they didn't get their way, have been throwing a hissy fit since November 2016 and are determined to make it clear they are still pissed off about it. As if confederate historical statues are the biggest problem facing this country today <snort>. It is them and THEIR behavior that has renewed these sickening displays from white supremicist groups -- for years, said groups were basically laughed at and ignored. They held rallies and marches and no one came! No one paid any attention or gave them any credence. Now they are surfacing yet again in response to the hysterical silliness of the whiners on the other side. Point -- counterpoint. Perhaps if those whose political views did not win in the 2016 election cycle would grow up and behave like Americans are supposed to -- work towards getting your agenda implemented in the next election -- instead of losers determined to stomp around and make noise no matter what, things might actually improve. The "right" I know, the silent majority, doesn't want anything to do with the white supremacists and racists. They will never be allowed to have any political power ever again. But we don't want anything to do with the extremist left agenda either and we don't feel the need or desire to turn society on its head, nor to scream and shout at every opinion we are opposed to or disagree with, and we don't cotton to sore losers, and we don't give in to those behaving like toddlers. Ignore provocations, protest peacefully like the example of MLK for the things you TRULY believe in that will make a real difference in lives, and I'll support you. Keep become more and more extreme in your ideology and methods, you'll be relegated to the same dung heap as the other extremists.
It is what it is. The will of the citizens in tge areas. So long as it's constitutional, it is what it is. Ok, not ok, in these cases, it's not my place to dictate.
Vandalism and the threat of destruction of culture as art - nice argument. Did the Taliban say that? Did they describe the blowing up of Buddhas as performance art?
I hate only hate... Well, & stupidity, but that's subjective. Yes the founders were traitors to England, but they were patriots to the cause of the Colonists.
Our art and history should NOT be held hostage or used as a bargaining chip; they should be held as somewhat sacred; off the table. Otherwise, you set a dangerous precedent, and allow ANY art to be held hostage by hostile factions. The monumental toad McAuliffe wants ALL statues removed in Virginia because they're "flashpoints." This is more than revolting, self-serving, pandering; this is letting the terrorists win. You threatened our art/culture? Okay - we'll remove/destroy it. This is the LefTaliban, and this is slime like McAuliffe happily doing their bidding. It is worse than treason, it is barbaric. And this goes for a statue of Lenin in the Northwest, or a statue of Lee in the Southeast: hands off.
I'd agree with all of this, were federal funds solely used for them at all. The artistic aspect honestly, for me at least, matters not one popcorn fart. Not big on statuary.
Well, it's a matter of basic moral principle at the local OR federal level. This is the slippery slope; today the statues - and you're really missing out, as some are pure magnificence - tomorrow the Passion and Starry Night.
Depends on the actions. I have often never seen the consequences of some decisions/actions coming, until they arrived.
you hate the emotion of hate? lol ok. sounds so prophetic. i assumed by you saying "i hate only hate" you were referring to confederates, as per the subjects of this thread.
No, as anyone will be able to tell from reading back, this was not the case. Now, about those examples.......
An answer to your accusation, as you know, & anyone reading back, or who interacts with me will attest to. But you already know this. NOW, I'd like to see the examples I requested. If not, an apology. Or an admission that you posted bullshit about me on purpose.
hey man, quit dodging, what were you referring to when you said you hate hate? don't say just the emotion of hate, that's retarded.
no, you didn't, but i will. when you wrote you hate hate, i assumed you were referring to confederates, as this is a thread about confederates. i responded in kind. if you are referring to some nebulous idea of simply hating the emotion of hate, and it's unrelated to the thread topic, then hey, that's my bad. but you need to work on your conversation skills.
