I don't see children invoking or becoming aware of most of these rights, until they are teens. Most people would not for example be able to use the 3A because they probably forget its even in the constitution, so if a police officer said I am staying over at your house because I can 99% would say I have a 4A right and not 3A

What do you mean by applying for foster care? Are you looking to be adopted? At 22?

Or do you mean you want to be a foster parent of children?

If it's the latter, yeah, please don't do that. For the love of God, please don't.

I didn't mean housing issues. I meant more like mommy and/or daddy issues.

I thought the same thing...it's silly that anyone would still be under the Trump economy....8 years ago? Understandable

Group Homes for Challenged Individuals usually provide housing for the Care Takers. Kudos for volunteering for that work.

At the age of 22? Most people start seeking some sort of work around 15 or 16 years of age, even if for pocket money during the summer.

Your parents weren't lenient... they were actually lazy, IMO.

Being a free range child is fun, and it certainly makes for easy parenting, but there are downsides.

Like, say, ferinstance, when the free range child grows up and struggles to find a starter job at 22 years old.

Hats off to you or anyone that parents! I have dinner at peoples homes that have 2-4 children and I swear, todays children treat their parents as if they were worthless idiots that only live to supply them with goodies! I couldn't do it, no way no how!

I blame public schools in the end. The parent get them for a few hours in the morn and after school and the miscreants have them all day and have the parents outnumbers 20 to 1 in behavior training!

    Bollocks

Poor parenting is NOT the schools fault. Quite frankly it’s the opposite. Awful parents are ruining public schools

LOL do grammar nazi's have no life.

Clearly the latter, which some of you might not believe but I would make a great parent to those babies. Everyone who has ever seen me look after children agrees,

All children should be protected from religion until they 18, when they can choose for themselves whether to be rational or whether to believe in myths.

No, children have different rights than adults. Different protections too. You can't sell your children, or beat them. They have a different, generally more lienent legal process.

Because the taxpayers should foot the bill so the trade school dropout can go to college?
