They're also going invest in some nice counterfeit detection technology. Apparently, they've been too stupid not to do it to this point.

    No he's not.

Look Matt, everyone on probation has the same problem, get charged with a new crime and back to the pokie ya' go until the new charges are resolved. Happens all the time. Guilt isn't part of the equation.

Matt, that's probably what caused the problem in the first place.

    No he's not, like seriously.

Burger doodle didn't bring the charge, the government did.

The lawsuit is false. Every store I go to checks the money either by a special pen or holding it up to the light. His claim is untrue and nonsense.

    Subjective question.

Supernotes fooled seasoned bank employees, remember that?

Lesser quality counterfeits are more obvious when compared to legitimate bills but one would have to put the effort in and still a claim of counterfeit would technically be an opinion until verified by the federal reserve.

The use of those "counterfeits detecting" ink pens used to be common in retail but defeating them is a trivial matter these days so most don't even bother.

UV scanners are considered the most generically reliable method for public currency inspection but, still, they can be beat.

It is a lawsuit that should be summarily dismissed. If people receive what they believe is a counterfeit bill they should call the police. The police should question the person to determine if there is reason to believe the person knew it was counterfeit and to learn where he got it from to try to catch the counterfeiter.
    defense would be necessary.

I do not think there is ANY instance where a person phones the police being liable for what the police do or for calling the police.

Bingo! I bet they had a pen and it alerted falsely. Bill was probably in bad shape, maybe dirty. One has to think the coppers looked at the bill and thought the same. Possibly other bills in homeless dudes possession looked odd too.

His problem was being on probation and again coming into contact with the police.

Again this happens daily. Dude on probation gets into an argument, cops come.........

Did you conveniently ignore the part where the Secret Service said the bill was real in order to continue your gibberish narrative?

Plus his prior conviction he was on probation for that the police would see pulling him up on their computer.

Notice how they kept it secret what he was convicted of? That is called "media bias" to make a point THEY want to make.

He had a real bill. Why do you keep ignoring this fact? He's falsely accused of having a fake bill. Well, what is he supposed to do?

Again, that's not his fault that this false accusation was brought against him.

The OPer left this part out of the quote:

"Ellis was arrested in November 2015 and charged with forgery of a bank note. His arrest triggered a probation violation and he was held without bail until his final probation violation hearing, according to the lawsuit."

There is and its pretty legitimate.

Counterfeits currency isn't a simple thing ot determine, like any other crime it has to be investigated and in this case the police have to pass the matter on to the feds and then wait for a response.

The man was arrested and then imprisoned because of his criminal history and parole status.

The only offense I see was not returning the money he paid with.

As for the million dollar's hes seeking, well, its frivolous nonsense and we know this because hes suing a private company rather than the city that actually put him in jail.

The BK employees are allowed to act on suspicion, its not "discrimination" simply because some Black guy says it was.

But the SJW obsessed public hate mob can put a lot of pressure on a company to just pay this man to go away.

Look at the way his lawyer speaks about the matter "he cashier likely wouldn’t have questioned if the money was real if a white man in a suit handed him the same bill".

That subjective bit of race flaming bulllshit would NEVER be considered admissible in the courtroom ...but in the public circus, heh, it sells.

My guess is BK will settle for a few thousand, this guys race baiting lawyer will take more than half, and the bum will shoot the rest of it into his arm.

Its pathetic how powerful the race card is.

"I'm offended and I'm Black so pay me or I'll start a race riot"

Okay, so why are you continuing to push the narrative that he was guilty of the crime he was accused of?

    no idea.

I do know at least two things, though...

    1) that even the most vile savages among us have advocates, some more gullible than others. (Ted Bundy had groupies... and a woman, Carol Ann Boone, even accepted his marriage proposal during his murder trial in Florida... which, if memory serves, constituted a legal marriage under some obscure Florida law)

    2) that somewhere in the neighborhood of 99.96% of everyone who's ever been arrested, convicted and incarcerated will tell you they're innocent of all charges, that they were framed and 'have proof', that their DNA got under the dead girl's bloody fingernails when they were engaged in 'rough consensual sex', or some other such nonsense.

So, for the internet's 'somebody done done me wrong' stories, that's the jumping-off point with me....big grain of salt until incontrovertible evidence convinces me otherwise.

Or determining the bill was real. That could have avoided this whole fiasco.

No, did you miss the part in your "gibberish" (your word choice) replies that the police arrested him, not the counter clerk or store manager?
