I have no problem with the requirement, but the fine is absolute bullshit.

BTW, if anyone out there is having a hard time getting ahold of N95 masks, check with your local medical supply stores. That's where I found mine, and there was no purchase limit at this particular place.

I have 10 of the cheap medical masks, 2 of the n95, I havent worn any yet. I bring at least one when I go out in case its mandatory somewhere but so far it hasn't been.

Ballpark Estimate is that maybe 15-20% are wearing them when out and about, its trending higher each day.

Anyone can google "making a mask" -- there are hundreds of examples for making them out of stuff most of us have.

Isn't chamois a bit thick? Or dense, mabe that's a better word. Seems like it would be hard to breathe through a chamois.

Your post is an example of why the "boil the frog" method is effective. They are used to wearing burkas in some areas!

I love how people who regularly deride the poor for not being able to do things they deem to be simple (find a job, get an ID, not abuse drugs) suddenly have unending empathy for folks who might not be able to use Google or improvise a simple facial covering. Astonishing.

I love how elitists think that all people are endowed with the same abilities and access to resources that they PERSONALLY possess. Nice!

Used to, both Nocona boots and Justin boots. Almost all boots except high end custom boots where the maker traces your foot are made elsewhere now, not in the USA.

Actual cattle drives still went through Nocona just prior to WWII and crossed at Red River Station into Oklahoma. At breakfast men still wear decorative leather gun belts filled with very fine six-shooters. Never been there for lunch or supper.

Too bad there isn't a state wide mask order in FL. My county is run by a bunch of inept good ol' boys who care more about building as many boat ramps and gas stations per square mile as they possibly can rather than tending to public health; and the bulk of our citizenry isn't much better.

This started for us in PA last Monday.

I can't click "Like" on this because shame on you that's terrible!

But if there was a "LOL" button, I'd click that.

This became the norm here in PA last Monday. All open businesses, even if not open to the public, have to wear masks. Nobody can sit at tables facing each other. At my company they've been having the two weekly meetings in the warehouse so they can all stand apart. Haven't met a single person yet that's happy with any of this, but I think most understand it. Doesn't mean they aren't irritated about some of the arbitrary ways that things have been done. Certainly doesn't mean they don't have some reason to be.

    But people do get it.

One of the wives of one of our county commissioner's started a group of people who were sewing masks and donating them. At first they were making them primarily for the local hospital, but in the last few weeks the group has grown and they've made over 30,000 masks at this point. And that's just the largest group that I know of in one county.

Masks aren't hard to come by. There are likely people in the community making them. And there are several ways to make them at home, all of which you can find about as easy as finding google.com.

So Florida here. Was in Home Depot yesterday. Packed!!! I went in early but when I left there was a line the length of the store. But everyone was wearing masks, people being friendly and polite.

Been at work twice a week since it all began. Been wearing masks the past two weeks. But we social distance and do what we do. No ones been sick at our location. 2 total cases of 4K+ but only minor symptoms.

SWFL And our resolve is fading fast, old tyme pottery opened back up, sister was there with 50 other shoppers, neighbors had half a dozen over for drinks on the porch, traffic is picking back up, my customers who left me alone for a couple weeks are calling again. Friend of a friend haircuts in garages are going on. Etc. Km waiting for the news to announce the beach open.

I think a lot of peeps are quickly growing tire of the daily hysteria and the "all in this together " stuff.

Lame? If you read the O.P. then you know that I am constructing my own masks. It will be interesting to see, however, how many citizens also do so tomorrow. I suspect that the arrogant judge issuing the order without appreciable thought invested in it, will be surprised.

Yet somehow you seemed to think that old T shirts and safety pins were so exotic that "ordinary people" wouldn't have access to them..
