    I am aware.

What I am saying is that an actual Garden of Eden with an Adam and Eve did not exist.

It's possible that the story tellers were referring to the hanging gardens of Babylon as the "Garden of Eden". Remember, Babylon was also referred to as Babel. The Assyrian and Babylonian Empires were basically centered in the same geographical area and they had lovers quarrels all the time.

I mentioned that the Assyrian Empire could have been referred to as the Garden of Eden because the king of Tyre was said to have lived there. The history in the Bible is jumbled so it's somewhat difficult to assign an event to the Assyrians or to the Babylonians, especially with the Egyptians thrown into the mix. Then there's the earlier Sumerian and Akkadian and other kingdoms to consider.

    That is very possible.

Understand that a number of Human Civilizations existed before the writing of the Tanakh....which became the Torah...which was used to write the Bible.

The Old Testament is a number of stories used for the purpose of teaching morals and laws.

It really cannot be taken literally.

As it says in Titus 1:14 (CEV) = "Don’t pay any attention to any of those senseless Jewish stories and human commands. These are made up by people who won’t obey the truth."

Thing is...even though Bible Belt Christian's don't want to here it....the stories in the Bible came from the Tanakh and Torah.

It means you are totally clueless.

Like I said.... you don't even know the definitions of the words you use.

    According to Oxford:

Ethnicity = The fact or state of belonging to a social group that has a common national or cultural tradition

So tell me.... which group or traditions existed before Adam and Eve were created ?

    We'll wait.

Since you made yourself the topic now....

Trust me... You are criticized for many things, including ridiculous numbers of posts, trolling, and having no life outside of here...
but your silly questions aren't one of them

    Lol.. you guys are awesome....

    Genesis 2:10-14 (NIV)

10 A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters.
11 The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold.
12 (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin[a] and onyx are also there.)
13 The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush.
14 The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

    Genesis 2:10-14 (KJV)

10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
    11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

    Genesis 2:10-14 (ASV)

10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became four heads.
    11 The name of the first is Pishon: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 and the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Cush.
14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth in front of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

Let me know when I hit the version you read.
'Cause these ones aren't even close to what you're claiming ; )

No kidding! I've never seen denial like that.

Brilliant.... someone wants to take the question of ethnicity, and turn it into genetics.

The OP's author is a great example of changing the argument or ignoring the facts, as his question is failing, but I think the problem this post (and many who live in this forum) suffer from is.... when people don't know what they're talking about..... they keep talking.

You can't give a reasoned response to the OP, nor to the problem of genetic variation among the human population.

Throwing a tantrum doesn't really change that simple fact. Creationism is, quite simply, a fairy tale.

Use any term you like, Micketto....you won't answer the question.

What "race" were Adam & Eve then? Caucasian? Sub-Saharan African? Asian?

Either because you have no answer that you can defend....or you "never really thought about it and don't want to".

I gave a reasoned response, more than once, you goofs just ignore it.

Ethnicity is based on tradition, groups, history..... how much of that existed when Adam & Eve were created?

Lacking an answer and twisting it into genetics the way you did only made you look silly.... of course it earned some "likes" from your uneducated peers, I'm sure.

    "We're clueless but we agree... let's high-five!"

"Tantrum".... for pointing out that you guys are making this all up as you go ?

    Zzz...

I used your term.... and answered your question accordingly.

You're attempt to change the question now, only confirms what I said in post #110 :(

Show me where you have directly answered the question, as you claimed to NightSwim....post and link.

Not danced around it or attacked the question or criticized me...but answered the question on the "race" of Adam and Eve? White, Black, or Asian?

Your ad hominem attacks don't really bother me, and you still have offered no valid explanation for the phenomenon of ethnic or genetic variability in the human population.

Perhaps I should have stopped with the top half of that post, but you never know when a thread will die or what detail of a long post may revive a dying thread.
The purpose of the OP was to point out that Christians don't try to answer questions about the Bible that it doesn't answer for itself.
My point above is evolutionists are the same and the gaps in their faith are much wider.
You say how could Adam and Eve produce descendants of multiple colors.
I say how can a few amoebas develop into all living things on Earth.
You say the inbreeding would end the species in five generations.
I say your reasoning would also end life at divided amoebas.
You say it's natural for things to change into other things slowly.
I say God can change things immediately if he wishes.
The book of Genesis has one example of a nationality being created suddenly.
God said to Rebekah: "two nations are in thy womb"

Esau came out red all over

"My brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man."

Such things may have happened many times and could happen again tomorrow.
Now will someone answer the top of that earlier post? Is there a climate-related reason for any of the diversities other than pigment, pores and hair?

According to the Bible there were all sorts of groups and cultural traditions in existence when Adam & Eve were naked and holding their long conversations with the talking serpent.

So why do you refuse to acknowledge the Assyrians, Ethiopians, and Arabians for starters?

so .... "god did it with magic"

no amount of pointing your crucifix at what you've decided is 'bad science' will make your myths true. but go ahead, if it makes those awkward questions seem to go away, knock yourself out.

That's not true based on any possible literal interpretation of Genesis.
Even if you can twist it to believe there were people outside the Garden (created in Genesis 1:26-27) and two people inside it (created in Genesis 2) you still have Seth Born to Adam and Eve 120 years after creation and after the death of one adult son at the hands of another.
Therefore you would have to believe that in Genesis 1 God created people of many nationalities with pre-existing cultural traits.
The next problem is that Eve is called the "mother of all living," the minimal interpretation of which is that no one else ever conceived human offspring except through her bloodline.
In other words those other people couldn't reproduce without mating with Eve or one of her descendants.
If you base your beliefs by declaring even one verse of the Bible false there is little use on looking to the Bible for other beliefs.
Remember anything you replace it with has no likelihood at all of being correct, since no one has ever believed it before.

Again, it's a matter of time. Give it a million years, you could get Australopithecenes to differentiate into Caucasian, African, and Asian.

But how FAST exactly could a "non-racial" human race, starting with Adam and Eve....produce those three race groups? Two or three thousand years? Nope. No evidence for that. Nor any anthropological evidence for "rapid evolution" under environmental conditions.

And which ones produced which ones? Again (the question none of the Creationists will touch).....were Adam and Eve white....white and black mixed.....white, black, and Asian mixed....black.....black and Asian? Which was the mutation? White people producting a black child? Black people producing a white (non-albino) child? Asian people producing a black child?

    Tell the Creationists, not me.

    - - - Updated - - -

There are those fundamentalist Christians....who never thought about what they believe and get very "uncomfortable" when questions come up they have no answers for...and are a little scared to research.

The very fact of their lashing out, rather than even saying "I don't know, but I'll look into it"....shows how weak their faith is.
