Unrepentant sin is the key to why this may not be so vile. Because it does not state "unknown" it implies that the person felt they did wrong at would happily do it again.

But I understand your sentiment. In the case of a primitive person who has no knowledge of ethics should god judge them? Or in the case of a sin that falls outside of ethical behavior? These are good questions and if the religious person has no empathy for these sinners then they are not truly whole.

Read the post carefully before you reply with so much vehemence.

Punishing people for their actions when their actions are already predetermined and unavoidable is simply vile.

Predetermined or controlled? Obviously the same thing in a very narrow view.

But if there is a judge, do you want bad people to go unpunished? If we have this world where everything plays out like a movie with good guys and bad guys and victims and bullies and heros and villains, who would you want to receive eternal joy? Everyone? I doubt it.

No, human nature wants bad people to feel the pain they cause.

I think that when we die we cease to exist. All of our joy or pride or whatever in doing wrong is erased. Its up to the living to make things right. The best and only thing to do is to treat each other with care right now. I am Ok with religion up to that point.

But I am Ok with religion. I think if that even if we choose to completely reject it we should still respect the positive aspects of it.

Are there LESS killings in a "more moral country".....remember, this is YOUR claim. "We have become more immoral....so God doesn't stop mass killings"

Simple....and utterly counter-productive if you're trying to "sell" Christianity. A doubter, who's never harmed a person in their life, gets Hell....while the guy who kills a dozen people but "truly repents" gets Heaven?

Paints God as OCD on steroids.

Of course you are more moral than god. Everyone is. The fictional character that most resembles god is the Joker from Batman. And he doesn't have the resources to be REMOTELY as immoral as god.
