NY can’t afford to fund its own state budget anymore. A massive budget shortfall, the Gov is in full panic

In 2019, Chicago's motto should probably be something like, "Chicago -- where miserable, frightened people hope they can make it to sunset each day without getting SHOT." :cynic:

Next up the anti-Semite then the Hamas supporter. Might as well go with the trifecta.

The $10K SALT deduction limit provision in the new tax bill means the rest of the country won't have to subsidize a handful of big spending liberal states anymore.

Northerners have been moving south for a long time. Our family was part of the wave that came down here in the '60s and people have kept following since. We were doing fine in Chicago and so were all the Northerners I know who have moved down here, including the New Yorkers.

It's not just the high cost of living, rising taxes, dwindling services and crappy government that are driving people down here. The climate is more temperate, there's less congestion, real estate and land is cheaper and if you're not into urban living the quality of life is far superior.

I'm not saying the North sucks. Despite all its problems I still love Chicago and the upper Midwest. There are parts of the Northeast I like - I learned how to ski in Vermont, and that's a really pretty state, especially in Autumn.

However, states like Illinois are not financing the rest of the country - they can't even keep up with their own finances. I derive absolutely no pleasure from what's happening up there.

It is very unfortunate that the South and near west side, gives the city and state a bad name. It doesn't help that democrats including Obama's butt boy have polluted the city for years and have now just about run the state dry.

I thought Chicago Republicans went extinct years ago. My parents were lifelong Republicans and sometimes I wonder if their politics contributed to their decision to leave Chicago.

When we moved to Virginia it was pretty much a red state, but the growth of the federal government since the 1970s has turned it blue. Now all the high offices in the commonwealth are occupied by Democrats - a Ku Klux Klansman, a rapist and a Jim Crow-era minstrel. Perhaps you've heard about our three Flaming Dumpstercrats in Richmond?

Yeah winter sucks.....and a good majority that have lived here their whole life. Still don't know how to drive in it.

We might get 5 months of sunshine. Lot of dull grey days and news filled with corrupt Demos and Surrender Repubs.

Ah, no, the Blue States do fund the majority of Red States, have for some time now, and will do even more so down the road

Having traveled the country, they will be burying me in the NE, it is the only part of the country with personality, don't want to live any closer to the Equator and couldn't live in flat regions accented by strip malls, boulevards, and chain restaurants

Mine were too. I guess we are either products of our environments or smarter the than the average bear. I left Chicago Long ago but still enjoy visiting the city for its architecture. I also have properties in a couple much more friendly southern states.

A few of us stayed behind enemy lines. Got to keep them on their toes. ;)

Some Tea Party members here. Joe Walsh following.

Dan Proft has a following of Right leaning Libertarians.

Haven't heard anything about Virginia unless it was in National News.

Good. You wanted a Federal Welfare Leviathan and you got it. How much more "free" stuff do you want to pay for? "Medicare for All", a "New Green Deal"?

I guess you've never been to the Big Easy - New Orleans has personality out the ass. I'd move there if the food wasn't so good - I'd turn into this guy in the space of a couple of years:

I've traveled from the Atlantic coast beaches of Florida to the shores of Bristol Bay, Alaska and I've found that every region in the country has personality. It's part of what makes America great.

However, I'm with ya on the bland generic stuff you find everywhere, especially in the 'burbs. They have no personality and charm...

Thas alright.....I still give Jesse(Jackson) a headache whenever I run into him. Same with Boobie Rush and Danny Davis.

Tiny Dancer is protected now that he is Mayor. But he wont be running for re-election. I figure he will go back home to Wilmette. He never was a Chgo Pol anyways.

Looks like Bill Daley has the inside track for Mayor. Yep another Crooked Daley.

Of course, BO the Peep don't live around here anymore. So I can't pick on that mope anymore.

Lil Louie(Farrakan) is still in his bunker. He worries about the Latino's these days. Which is why you don't see him saying to much about them.

City is still pretty much divided up as it used to be.

You missed the point, those Blue States, who approve of some of what you mentioned, are currently, and will in the near future, funding what there is of those ideas in the very red states that supposedly disapprove of them

Been to New Orleans, twice, and it is iconic, immediate region is, but it is also seedy

And I'd disagree, no region has the diversity, history, nor character of the NE, just experiencing the passing of four seasons makes it unique

I agree, the NE is quite beautiful. I can even see through what once was in some of the slums. It's the people who make a place. I have many friends, family and acquaintances in nearly all parts of the country. As long as we don't talk politics we normally get along just fine. :)

These Tech Oligarchs cozied up to the progressive Left. And in the process completely pissed off the right. And NO!, we will not forget their bias, smearing and efforts to silence us. They better learn to please the Left, because they have already made enemies of The Right.

I'm not sure Cortez and her followers have a brain in their heads. But: New York’s Amazon Dustup Was An Early Battle In The Long War Facing Big Tech.
Unless they think they can beat everyone, in a war, you need allies. Given their behavior, who will ally themselves with Big Tech?

In our Country, I expect the Constitutionalists to beat the Socialist Oligarchists, and The Constitutionalists aren't going to ally with Big Tech.

How can an oligarch be a socialist?

And what in the hell are "Constitutionalists?"
