Nice try. There are hardly any blacks in those states. And in fact they are all below the national violent crime average... which should at least correlate to the OP’s thesis. Glad you mentioned Maine, by the way: lowest violent crime in the country with, wait for it, 1.2% of the population African American. You’re more likely to find an honest politician in Washington than a black guy in Maine. And it is the safest place you can be. Followed by its NEIGHBORS Vermont and New Hampshire... #2 and #3 in lowest violent crime. The three WHITEST STATES IN AMERICA are also the three safest.

And arguing with the national statistics is folly. It is well establised that blacks as a group commit crimes at a rate vastly disproportionate to their fellow Americans of all races. Instead of arguing these statistics, a more productive use of our time would be to discover exactly what it is that makes American blacks so uniquely violent.

 

It's not only white supremacists who are impacted by these programs that discriminate against whites.

If you are looking for a demographic that is over-represented in violent crime, you'd have a much stronger case in saying that "America has a male problem." Something tells me your concern for demographics ends with race and you don't want to consider the stronger role that gender plays.

 

So you are advocating blaming the entire black American population for the actions of a small percentage of that population.

But why stop with just them - if we create programs that target just males - we can reduce violent crime by 80% - not just 50%.

 

Why not? You JUST said it was acceptable to discriminate against white people with government programs because OTHER white people years ago funneled money unfairly into white businesses.

So is it acceptable to discriminate against white people based on other white peoples actions but it's not acceptable to discriminate against black people based on other black peoples actions?

You are making the wrong comparison. It's about culture, not race. Poor and lower middle class inner city residents are the issue. To address these issues you need the good people in these communities to step up and quit being afraid. How you do this is beyond me, but that's the only way to change it.

That doesn't explain why we have poverty stricken communities like the Hispanics and native americans who don't engage at even REMOTELY the same level of violent crime as their black peers.

It is factual to say that American males are responsible for the vast majority of crime in the US. If a woman told you this was justification for discrimination against males - what would be your response?

 

Using your logic, don't Asian Americans have an argument that we don't have a violent crime problem in America, we have a non-Asian American violent crime problem in America?

They would have every right to claim they aren't the problem. Just like whites and basically every other group except for blacks can claim.
