Who is trying to rewrite history? Any examples of that or did you pull that out of your bottom as well?

I’ll wait for your reply, I can hardly wait to read it..

Anyone that praises the Confederate flag or Statues on State House lawns has forgotten the history of them

edit: well maybe some do remember and that is why they want them there - so will give you that one

I would agree with you. Of course, if it doesn't serve the collective over the long haul then white privilege due to the legacy of slavery can't really be a thing.

    Some history

    https://www.history.com/news/how-the-u-s-got-so-many-confederate-monuments

"“Eventually they started to build [Confederate] monuments,” he says. “The vast majority of them were built between the 1890s and 1950s, which matches up exactly with the era of Jim Crow segregation.” According to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s research, the biggest spike was between 1900 and the 1920s."

I say let's move them off State House lawns to a historical site for the civil war - if people want to worship them, they can go there - and while they are there, learn the history of why they were erected and when

Baah .. "Own slaves again" - many citizens are already at indentured servitude status. A different kind of slavery - and perhaps not as harsh or direct - but slavery nevertheless.

The Confederate cause was the same cause of the War Of Independence. Ideals of self governance and the right to leave a voluntary union. Are you and your lefty pals planning on the America Revolution being your next target?

And where is the rewriting of history you spoke about, I asked for a example. Can you provide one?

I say no. Under that ideology we could just move all monuments to a central location and totally erase our heritage.

And then when they come and burn down the museum for incorrect thinking, then what? We are not that far from the Buddhist temples destroyed by "idolatry"-hating Muslims. It can happen here if the crazies aren't stepped on, and fast.

So your way, we'd have to go find the museum to learn about slavery? Some education curricula!

    Agree

But the ones you are referring too are not racist. You might think they are others do not. The “it has to stop because it offends someone” mentality the left has embraced is not realistic and taken to its extremes will lead to the removal of anything found offensive by anyone. Sound like a place you want to live?

Don't even start on that question. You would do far better creating your own OP with that question.

We start with the National Socialist Party being replaced by the Nazis, the Nazis, the Nazis. Mustn't remind leftists of that origin, any more than remind them who started the Klan.

Perhaps you shouldn't throw ideas out there if you have no interest in discussing them.

the ones I am referring to are racist and should be removed - any that were erected during Jim crow for racist reasons should be removed

put them somewhere other than the State House lawns

the Confederates lost, I would not want Jew haters erecting Statues of Hitler on State House lawns either

Losing has nothing to do with it. It is to honor their sacrifice fighting for their home.

Unless your a believer in the ideology that the Nazi party adopted Hitler lead a war of pure aggression. I do not and thus I would not erect any for that either.
His crimes against the Jews were only one of his many IMO.

Modern Germany wants nothing to do with that era and has enacted Laws that many think go to far in trying to erase it. I’m not sure long term if that helps or hurts honestly.

You say they should go to the museum to learn the history, as if that would be the ONLY place that same shameful, racist history would be told. That would be a coverup of history, limiting where that shame would be told.

That will never happen, the DP has had a very long time of nurturing it's crop and they are so behind the curve and lack any of todays skills sets to be successful that they are doomed to a life of dependency :(

Okay. You mentioned museums to shut down exposure to unwanted ideas. To learn about it at all, you suggest people would go to "worship" there of something you would ideally not allow them to have. Is that your contention?....

Our national economy can use the input from black startup businesses hiring more black workers. Lifting a cloud of despair takes time, sincere effort, and a willing recipient. The left doesn't want anything but the money, failing so often to win their (*cough*) War on Poverty. That was what, 55 years ago?
