First of all no..I'm vegan but if you care to notice, I didn't refer to someone who needed the meat. I don't like it, but at least they were doing it for the food. The picture clearly showed what her motive was and besides that, no one would pay a hefty price to go across the world to get meat from a giraffe of all species.

Is there such a thing as a humane slaughter? You really go off the deep end sometimes there Ron.

BUT every hunter-hater will explain to you that only MALE animals have offspring so only females should be killed.

In fact, without for-profit preserves big African game goes extinct.

But, being the animal lover you are, how much do you financially contribute of your income to save big African animals? More precisely, how many thousands of acres of African preserve land have you bought and hired the safe to police. I certain it must be alot. Tell the details.

But, as you explain it, there still are millions of bison rolling across the plains, correct? They survived for millennia without protection and don't need any help to still dominate the American prairies.

I disagree, I have a picture of me with a 568 lb hog, one of the biggest ever shot in Guam, we had one hell of a pig fry and the rest was donated on the military base. I also have several pictures of large fish I have caught in my travels and am especially proud of the 87 lb Wells catfish I caught in Germany. It was also very good eating.

You mean to claim the member who bet his participation on the forum that Jeb Bush would be the nominee or he'll permanently leave the forum didn't tell the truth about cheeseburgers? He has completely contradicted himself about firearm ownership too. That's just his thing, possibly an attention seeking thing.

It is likely she paid at least a 5 figure fee to the preserve. This then gives hope that the land won't be burned off for agriculture and the preserve might have a few wardens to deal with poachers.

I have no doubt every ranter on this forum about this has not give 1 penny to save giraffes. Every PETA radical I've met lives in a world of concrete would won't spend so much as a dollar to feed birds where they live.

Any of you actually KNOW a SERIOUS big game trophy hunter? I met one at his home in Texas for private gun sale. The guy had at least half a million in taxidermy in his grand living room, including a giraffe. I asked him the costs involved - how it works. Preserves advertise when they have an big game animal - nearly always old male - and the price for it. The cheapest was a water buffalo - common and endangered - at $10,000. Hippo was $20,000. He did have a male lion taxidermy: $120,000 to the preserve. Overall, he has given African preserves over $1,000,000 to shoot old males they want culled because the consume massive amounts of food, endanger the young and others, plus for most species will soon either just die of old age or be killed by a younger, stronger male.

Please, the trophy hunt is in our genes, at least for the alpha's among us. It goes back to the caves. I love hunting buff, something that can and will kill you. They kill or injure at least one or two hunters per year. There's nothing like hunting something that can hit back. I took a PAC buff two years ago that was going after workmen. We knew he was going to take a go at us in the thick Jess and he did. Fifteen meters or less when I saw him. The old dagga boy took us deep into the thick stuff and tried to circle around us. One shot with a 458 Lott to anchor him, the second was just to finish him and make it quick. If I were using something smaller like a 375 I just don't know how close he would have gotten to me. Maybe too close. The death bellow is something to behold. He died like the old boy deserved, not getting pulled down by lions or hyenas and eaten alive. You'd have to check your knickers in a hunt like that. Do you think your hamburger committed suicide so you could eat him/but probably her? Or your chicken? Spare me your pitiful snowflake babbling. If you eat meat or poultry, you're just being hypocritical.

A lot of people have chicken coops where I live and there are no free range chickens. Everything likes to eat them. You're a complete idiot if you let the porkers run around. I don't know what Ron is talking about here, except maybe his fantasies

What is the name for that movie where for 12 hours every year it open season in the US for all of us being killed?

Far more challenging to be hunting an animal that can defend itself instead of just standing still to be killed I would think for you hunters.

    Ok the name is Purge.

She picked out the weakest member, and then also took its meat. That’s respectable.

What bugs me about this are the photos. It just doesn’t show any respect toward the animal they just killed.

    I guess I’m old-fashioned in that regard.

I hunt for food, humans have been hunter gatherers since the stone age. You all that are condemning this young woman while sitting on your fat arses in your air conditioned homes, I would love for any of you to go out with me into the Alaska wilderness for 2 weeks with only what you can carry.
I would bet most of you metrosexual beta males would break down without your cell phones, laptop, and social sites like Facebook. And if SHTF, and you couldn't go down to your local whole foods ...well most of you would either starve, or fall prey to gang members that would take your stuff.

Over the fourth we went to the coast and brought home 38 lbs of shrimp (cast net) and the kids caught over 50 lbs of trout and a couple large reds. I couldn't buy that for the price of the gas for the RV and the campsite.

While its true urbanites have no clue what the wilderness is all about, its not fair to criticize them for not having the skills and knowledge to go out into the bush for a couple weeks. Come on man, its a probable death sentence if they didn't have somebody with them that knew what the hell to do.

OTOH, AWESOME 4th! Those kinds of memories are life's true wealth.

I realize that hunting and fishing is not for everyone...but these people that criticize because it offends there delicate sensibilities...look, just because they don't understand Bushcraft and hunting, doesn't give them the right to criticize either. Especially those calling for her to be mailed or eaten by lions, those are the despicable people I have issue with.

Like it or not, as a species humans are omnivores. That's scientific fact, we are healthier when we eat meat, and what is more free range than a wild animal. It's also more economical, I can take a $1 bullet and put over 100 lbs of meat in my freezer.
