ANTI-GUN RESEARCHERS ADMIT TO INCLUDING INJURIES FROM NON-GUN OBJECTS IN “FIREARM INJURY” DATA

I was reading through this and saw the gun haters' disparagement of Gary Kleck. I always laugh at that, especially when it comes from people who proclaim the "unassailable integrity" of gun banners like Arthur Kellermann.

Kleck was and is a highly respected criminologist, who interestingly enough is a politically liberal Democrat and who was - at the time he did his infamous study - a stalwart gun control advocate who did his study to prove the EFFECTIVENESS of gun control! Instead he found exactly the opposite of what he expected to, and had the intellectual integrity to publish his findings honestly.

Even today he is often at odds with gun rights groups, as he supports certain gun control laws; but he gets pilloried and demonized by the antigunners as a "right wing shill for the NRA" when in reality he was a guy who simply published a study with sound methodology that didn't contribute to the gun haters' preferred narrative and they turned on him savagely.

 

His study is widely criticized and rightfully so

 

As well as being widely applauded and rightly so.

 

Not near as respected as Kellerman. No one denies that

Kellerman is a proven fraud. No wonder you like him so much.

Actually both are widely awarded, but Kellerman seems to have been chased out of the gun business. Just saying

Wrong, Kellerman is back to doing traumatic brain injury stuff. But if you meant the anti-gun business you'd be correct.

 

I'm sure Kleck can get a job somewhere in the food service or janitorial industries. LOL

Used to. Used to carry as well. Not anymore. But I still shoot at the range. I love guns and think THE RIGHT PEOPLE should own them

who gets to decide what level of 'law abiding' 'sane' 'well trained' are acceptable, and what burden of proof is required?

 

The government (thru laws the people support) and whatever burden we require

 

gun stores do criminal background checks through th FBI before completing a sale. you cannot buy a gun from a liscenced dealer without going through this process. Does this satisfy your burden of proof for 'law abiding'?
