You can get pretty much anything on iheartradio ,,, if you own a smartphone. Even when my local radio station is carrying a ball game, I can tune into another station and get whatever content is out there.

I'm the reverse ... I go to my favorites Rush and Dennis Prager. But then I go to NPR to hear the other side.

In my view, I get truth and logic from the RW commentators. I get half-truths and illogic from NPR. I'm sure you feel NPR is reasonable and Rush has nothing but lies & distortions.

Beats the hell out of Taxpayers footing the bill.As with NPR.
It's as American as it gets. The opposite of Obama Mania.Like
Free this and free that.Playing Santa Claus, year round.
of course what was The Obama's net worth before getting elected
in 2008.Obama got hisself a $40-60 Million advance on a Book deal.
Netflix chipping in around $ 100 Million.
Plus The most outlandish Vacations of any president ... All c/o
    taxpayers.Totally Unamerican.
Modern day Presidents are usually well off.
We the People were forced to make the Obama's well off.

Your little hyper-partisan rant is noted.

What host(s) on NPR upset you?

Of course, NPR is not opinion radio hosted by ideological entertainers. It is informationally and culturally oriented, receiving very little taxpayer funding.

I agree. That's why I cut my cable and stream all but the local stations. Don't need the propaganda dished out by CNN and MSNBC and, though I installed a digital antenna, I rarely want to deal with the propaganda dressed up as news broadcast over the airwaves by ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.

    Other side of what.
I have a hard enough time listening to Conservatives from NPR
like Mara Liasson and Juan Williams. They are basically just Talking pts.
They don't know how to think. They are lazy. They have their NPR researched
talking pts. and polling. In their minds eye ... that covers it.
No thinking required. In fact, they appear afraid of finding out the real truth.
They can't handle Hard news that isn't sponsored or propped up by the AP.
Meaning they aren't skittish as much as dominated by Mass media groupthink.
I have no use for those type.
Which truly underpins the statement that Journalism died under Obama.
It was halfway there under Bush 43.
    Now ... it's just gone.

Alex Jones keeps me awake driving long distances, so I listen in after I've run through my power metal playlist a few times.

Like Larry Elder says.....the leftness tried talk radio with Sirius Radio. Then they learned they had to talk about something other than why they hate Republicans.

    Which is why it failed.

Everybody here has internet and that means you can listen to just about any flavor and section of the country you desire I catch at least one third leftie, another third crazy communist leftie (think tom hartman type), and the last 1/3 a mix of Limbaugh and local stuff while on my daily 4 mile walk or loading ammo.

When we lived in Orange County my wife always said she listened to Rush so she would know wtf the girls were talking about. But now that it's all blue that may not be needed.

I've been working from home for the past 12 years so, no, I don't drive much and don't listen to radio at all.

Folks like Howard Stern and Alex Jones titillate some folks in a way that Scott Simon or Audie Cornish would be loathe to attempt.

Listening to NPR for real news of the day would be like
a grown adult still insisting on Wonder Bread.Or Capt'n Crunch cereal.
NPR is for those incapable of separating fact from fiction.Too lazy to
run one's own Research or read the important books being published.
A classic case would be Ken Burns.A Favorite among the NPR crowd.
Burns is a very good filmmaker but as a Documentarian he is basically
a skinny, smiley face version of Michael Moore.
Burns slighly inserts or omits things in order to paint a picture that
definitely does not Paint a true portrait. It's slanted.Always to a Liberal
POV.Which is how Wikipedia operates now.
Mark Levin has been specific about this complaint.
Advising his Radio listeners to " avoid Wikipedia like the Plaque ".
because of their " definite left-wing slant " and continual habit
of misrepresenting or taking things out of context.
The entire MSM uses this tactic, but only on Conservatives.

You clearly enjoy your angry, ideological media performers who constantly complain that their ilk is being persecuted, but your Ken Burns is not an NPR host. It may be that you cannot name a single NPR personality that approximates Michael Savage or Mark Levin because NPR broadcasts news and culture, not the dogmatic partisan harangues you find so entertaining.

One thing I hate about talk radio and a lot of tv news is that only one viewpoint dominates, and there isn't a critical questioning of facts of both sides.

NPR is actually boring and usually avoids opinions, but when it does have them these opinions are usually left-wing, which is annoying. And yes, we really don't need a government-funded news broadcast anymore, its a relic of the 20th century. I also dislike talk radio for mostly being about right-wing opinions. Media todays only panders to people in their bubble. Its sad.

I know a great many people who have those " Driveway Moments " while listening to NPR

that you just have to sit in the car and hear the end of the broadcast. You're missing out !!

The only time I listen to NPR is when I am on a long road trip, I never lose their signal.

Actually I'd say it has more to do with the fact that any semblance of masculinity in the male talent is anathema to NPR.
