    Christianity does get discussed more, as people come here to discuss Christianity - not the other religious you mention.

    There is no conflict between the expectation that able bodied people work and providing aid and comfort to the poor the sick, the homeless, the children, widow, and the prisoner. A person who buries their talent will also end up in Hell.

    OK, reasonably good on the first part.

    But, I don't know where Jesus proposed that people that "bury their talent" will go to hell.

    Can you quote that?

    Of course, the larger problem with that is that JESUS may send them to hell, but he directs us to love and help ALL.

    In the Matthew cite, he made it clear that we are to serve those in PRISON.

    The Pope stated that Christians are to be open to and respectful toward sinners.

    WE are not the judge, according to Jesus.

    You my friend is a smart man and I can see why you don’t want to believe all these fairy tell about Jesus who was his own father. I mean come one any smart guy would know that can’t happen.

    Billion or million years ago ( not sure when because carbon dating process is an estimation and not exact science) that out of NOTHING , I mean absolutely NOTHING, suddenly a BIG BANG happened and all the universe was created out of absolutely NOTHING! That is much better then some Jesus guy call himself GOD? I am paraphrasing but Stephen Hawking wrote “ Universe needed to be created so universe created itself”, that sound more logical then Jesus call himself his own father!

    Hate for fellow humans is not something that can possibly be attributed to Jesus.

    Do you think he hated the prostitutes'? Do you think he hated the illegal aliens?

    When he ordered that Christians seek out and serve those who are poor or in prison (lest they go to hell) do you think that matches a message of hate?

    Pick your theologian.

    I think the Pope was clear on this point - in a way that other denominations can't just blow off.

    Amen. I think there is an issue with the word "creation", too. To some, it implies there was "nothing". Physicists don't accept the idea of "nothing" and consider there to have existed energy.

    Jesus died a horrific death on a Roman cross so that our sins can be forgiven and whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. That’s proof there’s nothing Jesus wouldn’t do to show us His love. AOC needs to know Jesus.

    The Noah story is pretty darn amazing.

    It has God giving up on his creation and slaughter every living thing (while keeping Earth!), like he just didn't know it would go the way it did and I guess he liked the Earth part.

    Then, he changed his mind. God changed his mind!

    Surely this story is an allegory.

    Yeshua was a common masculine name at that time. Whether or not some guy we know as Jesus as referenced in the bible ever existed is a complete unknown.

    Government feeds the poor, not churches.

    Don't get me wrong. I really like what churches do, at least when they include everyone.

    But, one needs to be careful about grandiose claims.
