I just read the Articles of Impeachment that Rep. Nadler sent to the House. My only response is that it is hard to imagine any rational, knowledgeable and responsible person, let alone a powerful committee chairman writing those nine pages while keeping a straight face. Nadler, Pelosi and most Democrats in the House firmly believe (hope against hope) that the Senate, most of the government and the preponderance of the people are as dumb as stumps.
Democrats like hank Johnson who believe Guam would flip over if enough people come there are deciding whether or not to remove our leader. I would be willing to bet the other Democrats are no smarter. All mindless global socialist puppets doing what they are told. They probably all have friends and family members serving on boards of foreign companies recieving bribes.
Are you saying there should be more articles of impeachment? That was considered. It's an assumed fact that Mitch and his merry men are not going to throw trump out of the White House but this whole procedure is going to show the casual American voter how loyal their republican Senator is to the Constitution and hopefully cause a monumental collapse of the republican party at the 2020 elections. We can only hope for a favorable outcome and it will be interesting to watch.
That is just YOUR "Opinion". Many others have a Different Opinion. In fact, in case you hadn't noticed, PF even has a dedicated section for OPINIONS: http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?forums/political-opinions-beliefs.10/ Everyone knows that there is ZERO Chance for Senate Conviction. Just like everyone knows that OPINIONS differ on the articles. In the simplest terms: People who Unconditionally Support Trump = DON'T Like Articles People who DON'T Support Trump = Favor Articles. Politics 101. Carry on.
The articles of impeachment are vague and based on flimsy evidence andvthe assumption that the lesser 1/2 of congress is more powerful than the executive branch. There can be no contempt of congress when the better 1/2 of congress hasn't even had anything to do with it yet. All contempt of Congress means in this context is that Trump hurt Democrats feelings.. It's my opinion that showing contempt for Democrats in the house was a good and responsible thing to do.
"Extortion" "Bribery" "Quid Pro Quo" Nope. Calls too much attention to the Biden's skullduggery, and the Dems can't have that.
All Presidents have the power to ignore Congress. Obama did it when he ignored multiple requests from Congress to cooperate with the investigation into the Fast and Furious scandal. Congress then referred it to the courts, and the courts ordered Obama to cooperate, and then Obama even went as far as to invoke executive privilege powers in order to ignore the court's order to cooperate with Congress. Obama didn't just ignore Congress, he ignored and stonewalled Congress AND the courts for TWO YEARS before he finally relented and cooperated. The Dems never even bothered to refer Trump's lack of cooperation with Congress to the courts, because they knew damned well they would've got laughed out of those courts.
LOL... of course he has... he didn't even fake it, like most normal presidents did... The hysterical part is the only piece of evidence Trump released was the phone call notes, and that one piece features prominently in Article 1... Can you imagine what he's hiding?? We'll find out someday...
Like every case that got a court decision so far?? The only thing getting laughed out of courts are Trump's shitass defenses... Foolish statement above...
Loyal to the constitution? I don't think you read the articles the same way the Senate will. And did you notice how they left out everything and anything that might lead a Senate trial to look at the Bidens? Why would they do that when for months they've been telling us no one is above the law?
So everything that you hated about Obama you want to forgive in Trump. You don't want Congress to stand up and say, "We have let this abuse go on for too long with too many Presidents, we say no more,". You want a Putin style President.
Fast and Furious wasn't the only example of Obama refusing to cooperate with Congress. He did it with the Benghazi and Solyndra scandals too.
See the part in red? What's the point of taking on an endeavor when you know the outcome will fail? My opinion is Schiff and his left wing friends were waiting in ambush for 3 years just dying to pounce on anything they could in order to impeach Trump When they got all this Ukraine stuff, they thought they had him, but then realized they didn't. Trying to save face, Schiff & Co come up with the garbage you now see knowing it's just that, garbage, which will be laughed at by the Senate. Once that happens, people like Schiff and Pelosi will go on TV and say they did their best but the partisan and corrupt republican controlled senate thwarted their efforts to save the country. So the questions in my mind are: Did Schiff & Co do this to protect Comey, the Bidens and other shady charactors? Or did Schiff & Co do this to slow down Trump's agenda? Or did Schiff & Co do this out of pure hate?
I want Trump to get the same treatment as Obama did. If Trump refuses to cooperate with Congress, then send it to the courts, like they did when Obama refused to cooperate with Congress. Why didn't the Dems send it to the courts? I know why, do you?
Bidens would be a separate case. You don't walk into court and say, "We can't investigate this murder, because there's another one that hasn't been investigated yet." You want to investigate the Bidens? Have at it.
I'm simply not going to respond to that uninformed a statement... sorry... You are allowed to try again, though...
Yup, I know why. It's the same reason Republicans investigated Benghazi for four years and stopped the day Hillary lost. Also, Chief Justice Roberts will be presiding over the Senate trail - why wait 12 months for a subpoena case to reach the Supreme Court when Roberts can make an instant decision during the Senate trail? It's not a stupid decision.
Yes, he actually has. The Dems requested that Trump step into their perjury trap, and Trump ignored their request, as is his legal right. The next step would've been for the Dems to plead their case to the courts in the hopes that the courts would find merit in their pleadings, and then issued an order that made it mandatory that Trump cooperate with Congress. The Dems skipped that part(because they knew their hopes were hopeless) and they went right to impeachment. Why do you think the Dems skipped the courts part? I know why.
