They should, I taught both my sons to cook and more. My husband also likes to cook. I'm working and he is retired so he does all the cooking. Now, if I could just get him taking up housecleaning as a hobby....
in my case, i need to practice short order recipes more often and work on my time management skills. what are everyone's favorite, short orders?
I would have become a chef, but I don't know if I could cook under that kind of pressure. I love to cook at home when there isn't any pressure though. Cooking is one of my favorite things and I am a Food Network/Cooking Channel addict. Lol.
In the past I had buddies who, when entering my apartment, the first thing they did was to raid my fridge. This because their wives were out of town and they had no food to eat because they couldn't cook. Of course, I always had my fridge well stocked with beer in the old days (but I don't drink anymore). Guys should always take up cooking - definitely the world's greatest hobby.
The cooking shows on PBS are better IMO for novice cooks as the recipes are easier to follow while the foods are just as tasty. Another major difference between the networks is that PBS does not permit its female cooks to display all the cleavage shown on Food Network.
Years ago, the real estate board I was a member of let us know there was to be a class on listening. The teacher, female, was excellent. She had us demonstrate that we did not listen. She told chair ! something. Chair 1 repeated it to 2. By the time it was at the end of the group, the story had changed. I told many sales agents, selling is not telling. Selling is listening. I got into the habit of listening carefully to people. Asking is selling. I find that by asking, very good questions, clients have a very good idea of their needs. Too many agents think their taste matches the client. Women have problems more than men since women are more opinionated on homes than the man is. True story Frank and his wife needed a home and pretty soon. She taught school and had to be prepared for the fall class. She had limited time to look. Frank lived way away from her job. My city kind of gave both a chance for a not real long drive. But first, Franks drive was way more than double his wife drive. So she had him by his shorts by that time. We had a clash. A home she liked lacked a dining room she wanted. But the home was outstanding. She made up her mind to buy that home. It was a show piece. She could put in her furniture and go to work. I had shown them a different home and it had the formal dining room. A bit closer to her job too. But it needed work. The price was awesome. They got into a battle. Not a fight, but words. I got a chance to have a private meeting with Frank. I explained to him that he lived in the home, she wore her home. She had pride in a home and did not want to wait on Frank to fix it up. When they signed the contract for the one she wanted. Frank blurts out to her, Honey, I live in the house and you wear the home. I smiled and gave him a nod.
I watch some on PBS too. If there is a cooking show on, I will watch it. I even watch some of the old Julia Child shows sometimes. I wonder what was going on with her and Mr. Jacques Pepin?
Why are so many women so "catty"? Especially at work. I'd be in the elevator and hear some of them trashing other women, but yet face to face they were all charming and friendly to those they trash.
they were the best of friends: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/15/dining/jacques-pepin-recalls-friendship-with-julia-child.html I also enjoy those episodes. Did you watch the episodes in which Mr Pepin and his beautiful daughter worked together? Claudine also became an excellent professional cook.
What's wrong with seducing a cute shy guy? Do you think I scared him off? Was I too forward or aggressive? I hope not!
it is not seducing if he is uncomfortable. are you implying that women are uncomfortable being seduced? - - - Updated - - - why not simply be honest and ask him if he wants to have some fun with you?
I'd rather not get into a discussion with you. Like I said, your posts are pretty much nonsense to me. - - - Updated - - - I'd rather not get into a discussion with you. Like I said, your posts are pretty much nonsense to me.
Bingo! And as I told my then-10 yr old son - 'You're not going to have me or any woman beside you for the rest of your life to cook your meals, so I'm going to teach you a survival skill - how to cook"....he learned and does a good job. But I will admit, when we do get together, he still wants me to cook my fried chix, pot roast, manicotti, cinnamon rolls - all of his favorite meals from his growing up yrs. I guess that's a man thingy........
I was always a one-friend-at-a-time girl. I was always the odd ball, and didn't like the clicks or the 'soc' (social) ones--like the cheerleaders and such
I think it's a pretty safe bet to wager that you've never been with a woman before. Lol. Part of the fun is the flirting and the chase! You don't just hop into it with a stranger anyways. You have to get to know a person FIRST.
I was born this way. I could have gone lesbian, or transgender but it isn't my thing. I like men and I like being a woman.
My very best friend died of cancer awhile back. We spent the last few months of her life watching Animal Planet and cooking shows. She was a great cook, but it took all day to prepare anything. LOL
I think the thread is satirical. Besides, there are stereotypes for SWF, at least of the sorority variety. Who else would be taking "selfies" and glued to their smartphones, at a baseball game?
