    I'm an atheist myself, but within the atheist community I can tell you there are a lot of intellectual blow-hards and I think that is probably a turn-off to most women. I'll confront people online but in real life, I prefer to be respective to others. A lot of men who are atheists probably have a superiority complex over the fact that they "were smart enough" to drop religion. I don't think being religious makes you dumb, and that level of intellectual-superiority that these guys spout off definitely can get on my nerves.

    I just Googled "Atheist sexism", and guess what I found? Articles about sexism in atheism that ALL stem from this one woman getting hit on in an elevator.

    Its not too complex to be intellectually superior to a fundy.

    Some fundies cant even understand that pointing out how simple minded
    their beliefs are is not an "attack on Christianity".

    women tend not to be as vocal or active with their political beliefs as men, I imagine atheism is no different...mrs wyly is life long atheist and she never discusses the political aspect of it nor would she have any interest in attending atheist conferences or meeting richard dawkins, she doesn't even discuss it with me...so if you're at an atheist convention and there are more men than women it's because there other things that they rather be doing....

    As to the op....when there are attractive women about, regardless of their beliefs, men tend to think with their little brain and not their big brain...as mrs wyly reminds me "you men are all pigs"...
