Me too. I just never could get into the main DC characters that much. I liked Wonder Woman because I love Greek mythology, but most of the other stuff I just hear second hand from my friends who are DC fans. At some point he became the god of knowledge for the DC universe and used his powers to try to find the Joker's real identity (tuns out there are multiple Jokers), but I don't know if he's still a god there are not. Sounds like something they'd want to change before it got boring.

    Which Batman?

If the original, he'd just pull out a sleeping gas spray and make Wolverine unconscious, plus the Bat computer would tell him how to win.

I think you separate Wolverine's head from his body and he is done. That can be done. Then, just keep them apart. Each can be melted down in an arc furnace and used in cars and refrigerators. Batman isn't stupid enough to take him on in hand to hand combat. He doesn't need to do that.

He can trap him using a bat-magnet.

Okay now, how about a fight between the Hulk and Bullseye, the later armed with a brazil nut and rubber band.

Like I said, I'm not really into DC so I have no idea who that is.

No, that's Deadpool. But yeah, since Magneto has established that Wolverine can be beaten using magnetism, Batman, with prep, would find that out and build a weapon/trap using magnetism.

    The real question is....

    Gandalf the Grey versus Dumbledore.

    Thoughts?

I am afraid Gandalf will charge Dumbledore and hit him repeatedly on the head with his stick. That's how "magic" works in Middle Earth.

I'm a sucker for these "vs" threads.

The thing about prep time is if Batman gets it, why can't Wolverine? But regarding prep time, Batman could find a carbonadium weapon or Muramasa blade which would weaken or completely negate his healing factor, and thus kill Wolvie.

Gandalf. He's been alive thousands of years and fought and won battles against supernatural beings on a constant basis.

The image is hilarious, but keep in mind that Hawkeye actually killed Hulk fairly recently in the comics. I'm sure he'll come back, though, if he hasn't already. But that reminds me of when my friends and I used to joke about those "What if" comics and come up with our own, "This issue of Marvel's most one-sided battles . . . Thanos vs Aunt May!"

DC has made it, so batman with prep = unbeatable.

It is plot armor so thick, the true question is who has the thickest plot armor, bats or Doctor Who...

The Doctor has regiantive abilities to rival Wolverine AND can time travel. So literal immortality and unlimited do overs. Plot armor is something invented to keep the hero going when anyone else in the story would be finished, Time Lords have been OP from the word go.

Plot armor is not quite the same as technological achievement. Though valid points. Except batman has defeated darksied.

Batman. We have seen Wolverine stunned and trapped before and half of Batman's arsenal consists of traps and snares. Wolverine is only dangerous if he gets close in which case Batman is screwed but unless they are in a locked room Batman can just zip away if he needs to. Hell all he needs to do is buy one of those giant as magnet cranes they use in junk yards (he's a billionare so no problem there) and then just use it on wolverine after he tasers him.

True. Basically Bruce’s armor was too powerful, and he outsmarted Darkseid. He tricked Darkseid into shooting his omega beams at him, but Bruce used the shard to absorb the omega force and redirect it at him, which resulted in Darkseid’s defeat.

Over time they always make super heroes increasingly powerful until invincible.

Originally, the concept of superman was he was faster and tougher because he was from a world with greatly heavier gravity. Thus, he was dense enough to stop a bullet and could outrun a train. But he couldn't fly, didn't have laser and x-ray vision or any other magical powers. Over time, this evolved to where he can literally alter time by flying faster than the speed of light. All super heroes are always made tougher to the point of what's the point at all?

So the real answer is who would win between Batman and Wolverine depends solely on who is making the story, because they will give the one they want to win whatever new abilities and powered needed to win. Wolverine could live in the middle of the sun, Batman would have a time machines on his utility belt, whatever is to be created as the next escalation.

The only character that makes sense in Batman in that he has no metaphysical or super powers - or at least not thru the last Batman movie I saw. They made Batman too dark a character and stories too extreme - but then I don't watch any super hero movies anymore for that reason. It is just massive video graphics, absurd plots and creating new makes-no-sense super powers turning them into metaphysical beings in human form.

But he likely can't stop any of Gandalf's more powerful attacks.
