Biden to announce vaccine mandate for companies with more than 100 employees

The sensible policy of allowing Americans working in the private sector the choice between vaccination for COVID-19 and weekly testing for the coronavirus is eminently sensible.

There is no reason why some ideologically-dogmatic, irresponsible, anti-social, and/or scientifically-averse goober should be accorded the privilege of infecting personnel and patrons with a deadly virus. Whilst many American corporations - United Airlines, Disney, Tyson Foods and even Fox News among them - have already instituted such a safeguard, the reasonable precaution has universal applicability and contributes to the level of immunity in the general populace.

Who would consign their children to a crackpot teacher who regarded vaccination, social distancing, and masking as anathema to his aberrant personal notions of adult behavior - but encouraged the little weezers to give granny a hug and a big, sloppy kiss when they carried their exposure back home?

 

What I want to know is why we should take advice or accept authoritarianism from the likes of people who think the CDC and Fauci didn’t advise Americans to wear protective masks because they are made of wool. After almost two years the CDC stopped advising against N95 and similar quality masks on Friday the 10th of September 2021. There has been a surplus of N95 masks for almost a year now. Domestic suppliers who spent millions of dollars tooling up to make N95 masks are on the brink of bankruptcy because the public health officials of this country told Americans not to use their product. How many people died because they were told NOT to wear a mask that could protect them? Personally, I’m fed up with authoritarianism from individuals and public health entities that disseminate disinformation with complete disregard for empirical evidence and the value of individual human life.

All these uneducated people and “experts” that knowingly gave terrible advice on mitigation contrary to overwhelming empirical evidence can take their authoritarianism and…..

 

What are the odds a weekly test will identify an infected individual before they have already exposed others to SARS-CoV-2?

 

I have not seen any data. I could only speculate.

Obviously, being vaccinated, social distancing, practicing manual hygiene, and masking are practical, efficacious precautions against infecting others or being infected.

Do you know the authorities you appeal to recommended AGAINST protective masks for almost 2 years before finally “allowing” for their use Friday the 10th of September 2021?

Do you know the President mandating this weekly testing promised a 7 fold increase in testing if he was elected? Do you know testing hit a high point right about Inauguration Day and then went down drastically, only recently getting back to levels equivalent or slightly above January 2021 levels? Have you ever wondered why?

So now you have openly admitted you support mandating something you have no understanding of. You base your support of authoritarian policy solely on appealing to the authority of institutions and persons known to disseminate false and misleading information.

Do some research on the odds of weekly testing catching a contagious individual before exposing their workplace to infection. Get back to me. If you really want to tell others what to do, you need to educate yourself first. The only thing more dangerous than an authoritarian is an authoritarian who has no knowledge.

 

If you are a qualified public health professional, virologist, or epidemiologist, I don't understand as much as you do concening the pandemic, no, but you have not presented any such credentials.

False. Like most patriotic Americans concerned for the well-being of my loved ones and fellow citizens, I take a pragmatic attitude toward reasonable precautions against the spread of a lethal virus. Presenting workers in the private sector with the option of being vaccinated or regularly tested is a sensible policy to protect other employees and customers.

I practice virology and epidemiology daily in about a dozen non-Human species. Species that share the same immune system as humans. But none of that matters. As of September 10 the CDC has come around to what I’ve been telling people for months. There are plenty of quality masks and people should be using them instead of cloth masks. The CDC stopped recommending against N95 and equivalent masks finally last Friday.

I have been offering PF members links to affordable N95 masks for many months. I have been criticizing the NIH, CDC, and others for recommending against the type of masks European countries have been mandating and providing for their citizens for months.

Isn't it wonderful how Trumpers can simply continue saying the same refuted thing even while it's being refuted over and over.
