And stop them. Right now we are continuing to make them worse.

This is not something that will start to affect us in 2100. We are having more storms, more hurricanes, and blizzards NOW. Think if we have several Katrinas every year as a regular occurrence
And they don't really give a **** anyway.

Righties miss Trump. They wanna bash somebody so bad.

There is no stopping the changes. It sounds nice, but humans are not going to do that.

Then the least we should do is not continue to make things worse.

I have been told we are at least a decade away from irreversible "tipping points" at which time we will see the beginning of changes that will be very bad. This is the famous "12 years until the world ends" phrase anti-environmentalists constantly attack people like Greta Thunberg and AOC with.

Personally I feel we have already passed the tipping point.

But lets say we have not, how are we going to not make things worse?

Are the people of the industrialized world going to suddenly give up their lifestyles? Are the people of the emerging nations going to stop trying to have what we have? Mankind has shown down through the ages we will not act till we have been slapped in the face and have to.

Just saw a piece on lake Mead this morning. I wonder how 15 million illegals mostly concentrated in the west and Southwest have affected how much water we use? That’s a lot of extra bodies that shouldn't exist, using our water, exacerbating issues that drought already brings.

What happened to white supremacy. Will Biden claim the biggest threat to be white climate change supremacy?

Where is near you, what section of the country? The climate has always changed, literally always. You will not and cannot change the force of nature. Deserts are now oasis in places, farmers now were once glaciers in some places and if you think your going to change mother nature than you've already lost.

The mid-west. And yes things always change, but the change has sped up. Farmers on land going back 5 generations are now making changes that were not necessary even 10 years ago. Just in the 11 years since I moved here the rain patterns have changed. Irrigation and tiling once were seen as a foolish waste of money are now seen as essential if you wish to continue growing crops.

FYI, the US Army's mission is far more complex than that. Why don't you go to their web site and read their material instead of making them simplistic.

The MidWest has had record Grain harvests since the mid 80's, guess global warming is helping them. Irrigation has never been seen as foolish but it wasn't used in the Midwest due to topography, I assure you farmers wish they had flat fields they could control irrigation rates, unfortunately they can't unless they're in the valley's. Tiling lowers top soil runoff has nothing to do with climate control. Tillage is weed and compaction control, it has nothing to do with climate change, more based on chemical limitations we now see. I will tell you that prolonged cool and wet springs have hurt farming more than anything that last 10 years. Does that mean we're in a cooling phase?

There isn't anyway possible you can state as a fact that change has been sped up. The sample size in which you are comparing data is so small in the history of the earth that it's almost laughable. Climates change, seasons change it's been that way for millions of years, we are a blip in the grand scheme of things. If you want to really focus on something focus on water sources, that is the real issue we the people and farmers will face over the next 50 years.

No doubt but have you ever seen anything that said the pentagon's main concern and biggest threat is climate change? Can we get real here and just call it what it is, Biden yet again is pandering BS for political purpose. Last week it was White Supremacy which was almost as stupid as this weeks national crisis.

The reason Biden made this claim is pure politics. The so called infrastructure bill in congress will have a ton of climate change legislation in it if dems get their way.

Yes it has, and not long from now it will be helping the Northern Plains states and then Canada.

I take it you have not spent much time in Illinois, or Kansas or Iowa or any of the states around them if you think they are not flat.

There is nothing but flat fields here, and the tiling helps excess water drain from the fields. Something that has become more necessary.

Whether it has sped up compared to a million years ago is irrelevant. It has sped up compared to the last couple hundred. Rain patterns that have been the same since the country was founded have changed in the last decade.

Considering that some news accounts claim that 40% of USMC don't want the shots, 60% must see that a virus with a 99% survival rate is a great threat.

The world must be coming to an end.

The Army disagrees, and since you have no actual experience, I will go with them

I was a contractor for 25 yrs, and at one exercise at Ft Polk, LA, in ehe surrounding woods, someone had to go around checking for a specific woodpecker's nest. There were given a cute nickname.

11 yrs ago, at Ft. Monmouth, NJ, there were experimenting with using solar to power the electronic equipment. Batteries and fuel, as well as just the pay load of hauling it was instrumental.

I understand the argument it is not an immediate threat, but the changes and its impact on the respective nation's economy is one of the main reason's.

None of that is necessary, not now and really never was. Nothing called for is really even very inconvenient let alone life-threatening. A lot of it will be better.

What has to be 'given up' is Big Oil's business model. That's it, not even the actual money, just the way they make it. They're willing to make life very difficult for humanity for several centuries just to keep the same offices.
