do you ever get tired of being wrong. indentured servitude was commonplace in early american history, with the indentured seldom living long enough to buy their freedom. chinese laborers were technically free, but their movements were so restricted as to make them captive in small islands of their own kind. each group that came to this country in waves were treated as outsiders until they melded into the social fabric. this is the way that every society has always treated outsiders and the more insular those outsiders are the harder it is for the rest of society to accept them. just ask the jews.

yes, slavery is a stain on our history, but it is a stain common to every society on the face of the earth. it's about time the race baiters and bleeding hearts grew up and recognized that the beast called man is not some gentle star trek fantasy creature. even in our supposedly enlightened society, man is a savage. the only intelligent option is to start from today. no demanding reparations for the misdeeds of our ancestors or recompense for imagined wrongs. we started that journey nearly half a century ago, but for some reason the agitators decided that simply living together wasn't good enough.

Well, there is still slavery with the brown people south of us, the yellow people west of us, the black people east of us, and the Muslim people across the ME and Asia. Instead of giving us credit for eradicating slavery in this country, the left ignores existing slavery and relives it where there is none. And they call themselves highly educated.

So? Blacks have proven to be easily taken as slaves by their own kind. That’s probably why they think whites are superior.

 

I saw a study a few years ago where they attempted to find racial differences between blacks and Whites. There is such a tiny difference it is almost irrelevant but when they used sports as a point of separation the did notice a couple of differences.

Blacks were superior at jumping and running skills while Whites dominated stamina and endurance sports.

 

are you being willfully obtuse. indentured servitude, a particularly white phenomenon, was most certainly slavery and the plight of asian labor was quite possibly a worse fate. face it, slavery was a fact of life. in some places it still is. my own ancestors were slaughtered and enslaved at one point. the difference is that my ancestors did something about it. they didn't sell their neighbors or children into slavery and they didn't demand reparations generations later. they eventually emigrated, integrated into the new society and became "just" americans.

And were whites treated like blacks were after slavery was ended?

 

They all ended it during times of great social unrest, postponing upcoming revolutions and end of monarchy in most European countries.
Slavery, and serfdom, in many ways were the drivers of revolutionary thought. Or did you think all white monarchs just happened to decide to give away power, and in many cases lives, out of purity of heart?

 

They didn't fight a war over it, so nobody wanted to keep it that badly except us.

It ended 170 years ago! Just like in most of Europe. The only difference is that in Europe nobody talks about past slavery outside of their history classrooms. Also, you forgot that the US was ahead of many European countries and many monarchs saw the risks of keeping the slavery. Those were the times of the rise of constitutional rights.
