    My point - before the deflections began - was that when resources are limited as they will become in the future - distribution of them will need to be on a rational rather than a market basis. This will drive the shift from capitalism to socialism.

    Cuba is poor, like any agricultural economy, but there is no poverty - big difference. Cubans are not bankrupted by health care costs and don't graduate from university with massive loans. Anyway that's another topic.

    That's simply not true.

    If we reach a point where food and water will not sustain the population, there will simply be a mass die-off. Such has happened many times before.

    Besides, socialism and communism are renowned for not providing those basic resources in the first place. Show me a communist or socialist country and I'll show you a starving population.

    Cuba is not an agricultural economy. It imports like 80% of it's food.
