I am not interested in taking them from you physically. I want you to hand them in after the 2nd Amendment is no more.

Which makes my point. If you took away that guy's varmit rifle, which is what the AR is, and gave me a "regular old 30-30" yeah, he would have likely killed more people. Or a "regular old 30-06" or a "regular old 7mm Mauser", yeah, with deliberate focus using sights instead of "spraying and praying" like he did, he would have killed far more people.

This is why talking with "non gun persons" is a waste of time, you have no idea what you are talking about.

My hope is that the 2nd amendment remains but only in one southern state. Then all gun toting non empathetic individuals can congregate and become a future extinct species along with the Dodo bird.
The remaining states can enjoy their children go to school in safety.

Lack of empathy is what we are dealing with and that my friends is a form of narcissism. google it.

Sinnik, you'll do. Let's say that the People via the due Referendum process, removed the 2nd Amendment. Would you be at the 'Alamo' shouting 'come and take my guns Santa Anna' and then perish all terribly heroic like ~ but dead is dead, heroically or otherwise, or would you honour respect and obey the Constitution as changed by the People.?

If the 2A were ever stricken from the Constitution I would not comply.

So, that respect you claim for the US Constitution would just vanish and you'd be on the Alamo rampant stupidly yelling out "Come and get my guns Santa Anna."

Possibly because it never happened. I live in Baltimore, I never heard of anything like that and I have listened to Talk radio here for several decades

AKs, ARs and Mini-14s are all legal to hunt with. For deer or bigger, an AR or Mini-14 would have to be chambered in something larger than a .223, and theres plenty that are. You would also have to have a low capacity magazine. Also easy to get.

The Mini-14 'Ranch Rifle' was designed specifically with hunting varmints like coyotes and prairie dogs in mind.

The Constitution is a binding document that restricts the government. It does not grant the right of firearm ownership, it restricts the government's infringement on the rights of the people.

Striking the 2A does nothing in regards to my natural born, or "god given", rights.

At any rate, what you are advocating for is a 100lb woman to have to defend herself from a 250lb rapist with her fists. How so very, progressive. Does a woman "stupidly" defend herself from attack just because she uses a gun to do it?

It was a direct answer to a direct question. It doesn't surprise me that you don't know what that is when you see it.

If the constitution no longer enumerates the rights we value, what purpose is there in respecting it? The likely result would be mass secession of conservative majority states, and conservative regions of progressive states. Then we'll either be several countries or we'll have a big war.

Is banning guns worth a big war?

Are you aware of what firearms were used in the VT shooting? They weren't rifles. And it doesn't get much worse than the VT shooting.

The .223 in general is a "varmint" gun. It has a fairly long range and a flatter trajectory than most. It can be used to hunt deer and will be effective but it kills with velocity rather than mass and thus doesn't generally kill anything that big very quickly, so is eschewed by merciful hunters

Im not aware of anywhere except Native American lands where hunting deer with a .223 is legal (for the reason you explaned).

It works quite well for coyotes though, which iirc can be legally shot with anything in most places (permit usually required).

I think boar can be hunted with .223 as well, though Im not certain.

I don't think even "conservative majority" states are going to secede, especially if a majority of THEIR citizens have voted to eliminate guns.

You guys GROSSLY overestimate how much Americans like guns. Going by all the polls I've seen you are a very vociferous minority but a minority nonetheless

Do you honestly think that we're all going to secede over gun ownership when the majority of us don't even own one?

to try and prevent some mass murders

how about another option, the one that owns the assault weapon is responsible if anyone is murdered with it - that might make parents keep guns out of reach of teens

Oh here we go again on the silly 'inherent' right rubbish. You have a gun because the 2nd Amendment says you may.

Sorry......I don't buy into the Sky Fairy stuff.

Straight out of the NRA Propaganda Book of Bullshit Responses. No, I am not saying she has no right to defend herself. I seriously doubt anyone would have much trouble sorting out a fat 200lb blimp.

    Yes.
Do you not know what a "right" is?
Do you not know what a "law" is?
Do you not know what those things mean?
